DOG SHOW RULES AND REGULATIONS<br />

1. Exhibitors must clean up after their dogs and keep them<br />

under control at all times.<br />

2. Female dogs in season are not permitted to compete.<br />

3. Dogs under 6 months of age are not permitted to compete.<br />

4. All “Table Breeds” will be judged on the table, no<br />

exceptions. Mixed Breed dogs will be judged on the table<br />

at the judges discretion.<br />

5. Exhibitors must include a copy of a valid vaccination<br />

certificate, including Rabies, with entry form. Any entries<br />

received without a VALID RABIES CERTIFICATE will be<br />

returned to the exhibitor. No exceptions will be made.<br />

6. The 4-H Dog show is open to Cecil County 4-Her’s only.<br />

Exhibitor must have a dog card on file at the extension office.<br />

7. All animals must be pre-entered on the Dog Entry Form<br />

in this booklet. It is due postmarked by July 2, <strong>2018</strong> and<br />

must include a copy of a valid vaccination certificate<br />

including Rabies, or it will be returned.<br />

8. Exhibitors should register at 8:30 a.m. with the show<br />

beginning at 10:00 a.m.<br />

4-H Novice-Handlers who have previously placed 1st-3rd in<br />

compete in the appropriate Open F & S class. Exception-<br />

1st year F & S Exhibitors who are regarded as Open Junior<br />

Handlers by the AKC as of July 2 of the current year, are not<br />

eligible for this class.<br />

RULES AND REGULATIONS<br />

1. Animals must be on the grounds at 9:15 a.m. on Friday,<br />

July 27, <strong>2018</strong> to check in at show pavilion. All animals are<br />

expected to be in good health.<br />

2. This show is open to only Cecil County 4-H youth.<br />

3. For cats: Proof of rabies and yearly booster vaccinations<br />

are required (please bring with you).<br />

4. All animals will be checked on arrival. Any showing<br />

signs of disease will not be entered and must be removed<br />

from the fairgrounds.<br />

5. All large animals must have health papers, donkeys must<br />

have proof of a negative coggins within the past year<br />

(please bring verification with you).<br />

6. Exhibitors are responsible for their food and water<br />

containers and must bring their own cages.<br />

7. Animals must be taken home immediately following the<br />

show.<br />

8. Small pets must be caged at all times and large pets must<br />

be under control by exhibitor at all times.<br />

9. All livestock (potbelly pigs, goats, llamas) must have a<br />

current, signed, and approved certificate of veterinary<br />

inspection. Any livestock must arrive between 8:45 - 9:15<br />

a.m. on Friday, July 27, <strong>2018</strong> to be inspected by the Vet or<br />

Animal Health Committee representative. If you arrive<br />

after this time, you will not be able to compete. Your<br />

animal can be housed in your trailer or in the overflow<br />

area (space permitting).<br />

10. Judging is based on youth’s knowledge of their pet, as<br />

well as animal condition.<br />

11. Donkey exhibitors must complete a horse self<br />

certification, and rabbit exhibitors must complete the<br />

rabbit self certification and present to animal health<br />

committee upon arrival to fairgrounds.<br />

12. No animals in the pets contest can be entered in any<br />

other CCF show earlier/later during the week except in<br />

the Pretty Animal Contest.<br />

All goats must comply with the MDA Animal Health<br />

Regulations and have appropriate scrapies identification.<br />

All goats come in day of show between 8:45 - 9:15 a.m. and<br />

follow the large and small pets contest rules. (Must have at<br />

least 5 exhibitors for show to occur)<br />
