1. Contest is open to the public. There will be<br />
no pre-registration for children entering the<br />
contest.<br />
2. Dress children appropriately for weather<br />
conditions. No children dressed in costume.<br />
3. Boys and girls will be judged separately in age<br />
groups. There will be two overall winners, one<br />
boy and one girl.<br />
4. As age group is called, boys will form one<br />
circle and girls will form a separate circle. After<br />
judging for a group has been completed, names<br />
and addresses of those babies will be taken and<br />
their awards presented.<br />
5. To keep confusion to a minimum, please arrive<br />
15 minutes before scheduled judging of your<br />
child’s age group.<br />
NOTE: All participants will receive ribbons.<br />
Tug-o-War Contest<br />

Thursday, July 26 at 7 p.m.<br />
1. Each participant will receive two throws, with the<br />
longest throw counting as their official toss.<br />
2. Tosses will be conducted as follows: all persons in<br />
your age category will throw once, then all persons<br />
will throw a second time.<br />
3. You may sign up to participate in the fair office any<br />
time before 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 26.<br />
4. The measure by the chairperson is official.<br />
5. Ribbons awarded to the top 6 placings in each division.<br />
Trophy awarded to the male and female with<br />
the longest toss.<br />
6. Competition will be held at upper part of fairgrounds<br />
between the horse barns.<br />

RULES AND REGULATIONS<br />
1. No pre-entry form is required; teams will enter<br />
at the time of weigh-in. At that time names will<br />
be taken and an entry form will be filled out.<br />
Each team needs a captain address and phone<br />
number that will be recorded.<br />
2. There will be an entry fee of $5.00 per team.<br />
This will cover the cost of prizes.<br />
3. The entry fee is non-refundable.<br />
4. Weight limit is 1500 pounds (this will be<br />
checked).<br />
5. Weigh-in from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon<br />
of the tug of war. (The scale is located in the pig<br />
barn. Any team not at the scales by 3:30 will be<br />
eliminated from competition.)<br />
6. No spikes or cleats allowed.<br />
7. No unsportsmanlike conduct will be tolerated.<br />
This will result in immediate disqualification.<br />
8. Each member will understand that they are<br />
pulling at their own risk.<br />
Pulling regulations:<br />
The Cecil County Fair and the Cecil County Fair<br />
Board will not be held responsible for any bodily<br />
harm or injury to a participant resulting from the<br />
tug of war competition.<br />
1. No one under 16 may enter the competition.<br />
2. Rope may not be tied around the anchor during<br />
the pull.<br />
3. It will be a double elimination event if time<br />
permits; single elimination may be required due<br />
to time restraints. Committee chair will make<br />
final decision.<br />
4. All decisions made during the competition will<br />
be final.<br />
5. Teams may be required to pull in back to back<br />
competitions due to placing.<br />
6. Pulling order will be determined by lottery.<br />
7. Trophy as well as T-shirts will be awarded to the<br />
winning team.
