10:00 a.m. 0 to 6 months*
10:15 a.m. 6 months to 12 months*

* This specifies the child has not reached that birth
anniversary as of the day of the contest.
1. Contest is open to the public. There will be
no pre-registration for children entering the
contest.
2. Dress children appropriately for weather
conditions. No children dressed in costume.
3. Boys and girls will be judged separately in age
groups. There will be two overall winners, one
boy and one girl.
4. As age group is called, boys will form one
circle and girls will form a separate circle. After
judging for a group has been completed, names
and addresses of those babies will be taken and
their awards presented.
5. To keep confusion to a minimum, please arrive
15 minutes before scheduled judging of your
child’s age group.
NOTE: All participants will receive ribbons.
Tug-o-War Contest

Thursday, July 26 at 7 p.m.
1. Each participant will receive two throws, with the
longest throw counting as their official toss.
2. Tosses will be conducted as follows: all persons in
your age category will throw once, then all persons
will throw a second time.
3. You may sign up to participate in the fair office any
time before 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 26.
4. The measure by the chairperson is official.
5. Ribbons awarded to the top 6 placings in each division.
Trophy awarded to the male and female with
the longest toss.
6. Competition will be held at upper part of fairgrounds
between the horse barns.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. No pre-entry form is required; teams will enter
at the time of weigh-in. At that time names will
be taken and an entry form will be filled out.
Each team needs a captain address and phone
number that will be recorded.
2. There will be an entry fee of $5.00 per team.
This will cover the cost of prizes.
3. The entry fee is non-refundable.
4. Weight limit is 1500 pounds (this will be
checked).
5. Weigh-in from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon
of the tug of war. (The scale is located in the pig
barn. Any team not at the scales by 3:30 will be
eliminated from competition.)
6. No spikes or cleats allowed.
7. No unsportsmanlike conduct will be tolerated.
This will result in immediate disqualification.
8. Each member will understand that they are
pulling at their own risk.
Pulling regulations:
The Cecil County Fair and the Cecil County Fair
Board will not be held responsible for any bodily
harm or injury to a participant resulting from the
tug of war competition.
1. No one under 16 may enter the competition.
2. Rope may not be tied around the anchor during
the pull.
3. It will be a double elimination event if time
permits; single elimination may be required due
to time restraints. Committee chair will make
final decision.
4. All decisions made during the competition will
be final.
5. Teams may be required to pull in back to back
competitions due to placing.
6. Pulling order will be determined by lottery.
7. Trophy as well as T-shirts will be awarded to the
winning team.
