1. Entry Forms for animal exhibits are located in the back of
this catalog or may be obtained from the University of
Maryland Extension, Cecil County 4-H office.
2. All animals entries must be postmarked by the deadline
date listed on entry form. The entries must contain all fees
required for class.
3. Animals must be on the grounds by the date and time
listed in the Rules and Regulations of the individual
section.
4. Animals staying may NOT be removed from the grounds
until 11 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018. Premium money
will be withheld from exhibitors not complying.
5. NO ADMISSION PASSES WILL BE FURNISHED.
Exhibitors will be permitted to enter during official entry
times; however, anyone accompanying exhibitor will be
required to pay appropriate admission charges.
6. All 4-Hers will be required to handle their own 4-H
animal projects.
7. Clovers may not enter any 4-H animal classes.
8. A maximum of 12 small animals per species may be
shown per exhibitor in the 4-H and open divisions.
(12 chickens, 12 waterfowl (ducks and geese), 12 rabbits,
12 cavies, 12 dogs, and 12 pets)
Each meat rabbit trio and broiler and duck pair counts as
one entry.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Open entry fee $.50 per bird. No entry fee for 4-H
birds. No entry will be accepted without POULTRY
ENTRY BLANK completed and signed by exhibitor,
and proper entry fee. Entries close July 2, 2018.
Positively no late entries. The Fair reserves the right to
return any entry on display.
2. 4-H Birds on display will be housed in the POULTRY
BUILDING UNTIL JULY 28, 2018 AT 11 P.M.
3. The show is only open for birds that reside in Maryland
or are a current Cecil County 4-Her. Birds that reside
out of state (for Cecil County 4-H members only) must
be tested in their own state prior to coming to the
show.
4. Exhibitors are responsible for maintaining and keeping
their exhibits clean, feeding and watering their
exhibits.
5. All birds shown must be property of the exhibitor by
June 1, 2018, except Market Broilers.
6. All birds judged according to rules in the Standard of
Perfection of the American Poultry Association.
7. No cards or inscriptions will be allowed on coops until
after the judging has been completed. Placing birds will
then be assigned a coop for the week.
8. The exhibits are being shown at the sole risk of the
exhibitor. The greatest care will be taken with all
exhibits; however, the Show will not be responsible for
any accident, mistake, loss or damage while on the
fairgrounds.
9. All poultry must arrive between 1 - 2:30 p.m. on July
21, 2018.
10. Show subject to cancellation due to AVIAN
INFLUENZA.
11. Birds must be tested prior to show for Pullorum-
Typhoid and Avian Influenza.
12. All birds must have the proper leg band to be shown.
Without the proper band your bird will be disqualified
and must leave the fairgrounds.
13. This will be an open exhibit show — you must be
present to show your birds.
14. All exhibitors must be present to show their birds.
15. Birds must be kept in proper cages as they arrive on the
fairgrounds day of the show. No birds will be allowed
to be caged in the Poultry Building until after the show.
16. Birds will be handled and brought to the show table
where they will be caged until the judge is finished and
places the class.
17. Judging will take place for each class individually
unless other wise combined by the judge of the show.
18. Birds may be shown in 4-H and open classes.
19. If birds are entered into the wrong class they can be
disqualified from the show.
20. Any bird unclean or unfit will be disqualified from the
show.
21. Any bird without a proper leg band will be disqualified
from the show
22. Any discrepancies or issues that arise will be handled
by the show Co-Chairpersons - any disputes or
misconduct on behalf of an exhibitor can result in
disqualification from the show arena.
23. If staying at fair, you must provide your own food and
bedding.
24. Market Broiler and Market Duck exhibitors must
submit a copy of market order receipt/shipping label
with entry.
Out-of-State Bird Instructions
1. Obtain a Poultry Premises Registration Number.
2. Valid copy of Avian Influenza test.
3. Valid copy of Pullorum-Typhoid test.
4. All poultry exhibitors must fill out a Self
Certification of Poultry Health (located in back of
book with entry form) prior to loading animals
and shall be presented upon request to the
designated fair and show representative at each
show attended.
