1. Entry Forms for animal exhibits are located in the back of<br />
this catalog or may be obtained from the University of<br />
Maryland Extension, Cecil County 4-H office.<br />
2. All animals entries must be postmarked by the deadline<br />
date listed on entry form. The entries must contain all fees<br />
required for class.<br />
3. Animals must be on the grounds by the date and time<br />
listed in the Rules and Regulations of the individual<br />
section.<br />
4. Animals staying may NOT be removed from the grounds<br />
until 11 p.m. Saturday, July 28, <strong>2018</strong>. Premium money<br />
will be withheld from exhibitors not complying.<br />
5. NO ADMISSION PASSES WILL BE FURNISHED.<br />
Exhibitors will be permitted to enter during official entry<br />
times; however, anyone accompanying exhibitor will be<br />
required to pay appropriate admission charges.<br />
6. All 4-Hers will be required to handle their own 4-H<br />
animal projects.<br />
7. Clovers may not enter any 4-H animal classes.<br />
8. A maximum of 12 small animals per species may be<br />
shown per exhibitor in the 4-H and open divisions.<br />
(12 chickens, 12 waterfowl (ducks and geese), 12 rabbits,<br />
12 cavies, 12 dogs, and 12 pets)<br />
Each meat rabbit trio and broiler and duck pair counts as<br />
one entry.<br />

RULES AND REGULATIONS<br />
1. Open entry fee $.50 per bird. No entry fee for 4-H<br />
birds. No entry will be accepted without POULTRY<br />
ENTRY BLANK completed and signed by exhibitor,<br />
and proper entry fee. Entries close July 2, <strong>2018</strong>.<br />
Positively no late entries. The Fair reserves the right to<br />
return any entry on display.<br />
2. 4-H Birds on display will be housed in the POULTRY<br />
BUILDING UNTIL JULY 28, <strong>2018</strong> AT 11 P.M.<br />
3. The show is only open for birds that reside in Maryland<br />
or are a current Cecil County 4-Her. Birds that reside<br />
out of state (for Cecil County 4-H members only) must<br />
be tested in their own state prior to coming to the<br />
show.<br />
4. Exhibitors are responsible for maintaining and keeping<br />
their exhibits clean, feeding and watering their<br />
exhibits.<br />
5. All birds shown must be property of the exhibitor by<br />
June 1, <strong>2018</strong>, except Market Broilers.<br />
6. All birds judged according to rules in the Standard of<br />
Perfection of the American Poultry Association.<br />
7. No cards or inscriptions will be allowed on coops until<br />
after the judging has been completed. Placing birds will<br />
then be assigned a coop for the week.<br />
8. The exhibits are being shown at the sole risk of the<br />
exhibitor. The greatest care will be taken with all<br />
exhibits; however, the Show will not be responsible for<br />
any accident, mistake, loss or damage while on the<br />
fairgrounds.<br />
9. All poultry must arrive between 1 - 2:30 p.m. on July<br />
21, <strong>2018</strong>.<br />
10. Show subject to cancellation due to AVIAN<br />
INFLUENZA.<br />
11. Birds must be tested prior to show for Pullorum-<br />
Typhoid and Avian Influenza.<br />
12. All birds must have the proper leg band to be shown.<br />
Without the proper band your bird will be disqualified<br />
and must leave the fairgrounds.<br />
13. This will be an open exhibit show — you must be<br />
present to show your birds.<br />
14. All exhibitors must be present to show their birds.<br />
15. Birds must be kept in proper cages as they arrive on the<br />
fairgrounds day of the show. No birds will be allowed<br />
to be caged in the Poultry Building until after the show.<br />
16. Birds will be handled and brought to the show table<br />
where they will be caged until the judge is finished and<br />
places the class.<br />
17. Judging will take place for each class individually<br />
unless other wise combined by the judge of the show.<br />
18. Birds may be shown in 4-H and open classes.<br />
19. If birds are entered into the wrong class they can be<br />
disqualified from the show.<br />
20. Any bird unclean or unfit will be disqualified from the<br />
show.<br />
21. Any bird without a proper leg band will be disqualified<br />
from the show<br />
22. Any discrepancies or issues that arise will be handled<br />
by the show Co-Chairpersons - any disputes or<br />
misconduct on behalf of an exhibitor can result in<br />
disqualification from the show arena.<br />
23. If staying at fair, you must provide your own food and<br />
bedding.<br />
24. Market Broiler and Market Duck exhibitors must<br />
submit a copy of market order receipt/shipping label<br />
with entry.<br />
Out-of-State Bird Instructions<br />
1. Obtain a Poultry Premises Registration Number.<br />
2. Valid copy of Avian Influenza test.<br />
3. Valid copy of Pullorum-Typhoid test.<br />
4. All poultry exhibitors must fill out a Self<br />
Certification of Poultry Health (located in back of<br />
book with entry form) prior to loading animals<br />
and shall be presented upon request to the<br />
designated fair and show representative at each<br />
show attended.<br />
