LONDON REVEAL EVENT The London reveal event for Shadow of the Tomb Raider took place on April 26th and the official start was scheduled for 17:00. The administrators were allowed to enter a little earlier, at 16:00. The chosen venue was called The Welsh Chapel, which address you can find on the side of this page. The Chaple is easy to miss, being squeezed betwen other buildings, but is pretty impressive in its antiquity and beatiful architecture. Upon entering the central part of the building, you find yourself immersed in classic british architecture with its typical charm, which will surely remind every Tomb Raider fan of the Croft Manor. Let´s get to the event itself: Before we embarked on this journey, we were informed on the temporary embargo, which was lifted after the premier of the Announcement trailer, which was launched on the following day of the event. We checked in at the venue and were introduced in... In the lobby area, we were one by one greeted by very friendly Meagan Marie, senior community The event was held on: manager at Crystal Dynamics and a devoted Tomb Raider fan. She kindly reminded us one more time the rules that were tied to the event. THE WELSH CHAPEL 136 Shafftesbury Ave London, WC2H 8HB We entered the central area and were blown away by the amount of detail that was put in arranging and decorating the venue – as if we truly entered a piece of jungle hidden in an abandoned old place. All was underlined by music from the upcoming game, very jungle inspired mixed with the main tune of the reboot series, which fitted the atmosphere very well. In the spotlight was a revolving pyramid full of plants, which looked amazing in contrast with the rocks and bricks of the walls. Just wonderful, take a look at the photos!
LONDON REVEAL EVENT After everyone gathered in the central area, the staff led us to the lower floor, where we witnessed the pre-premier of the full announcement trailer. Even though I don´t believe there still is someone who haven´t seen it yet, we are including the link to it below, regardless. WHAT ELSE TO ADD? During my first look, I got goosebumps all over and couldn´t keep my mouth closed. Yes, I was perfectly aware that it was only “CGI”, but it made well clear that this game will reach serious depths; the trailer was bursting with action and tension. We can easily deduce that by the climax of this game, we will be introduced to the Lara that is true to the one we all know and love from the older games. Looking at the audience reaction once the trailer finished, I am sure I wasn´t the only one having these thoughts. The room got filled with applause and joy. Next on the menu was the game presentation by the developers.
