Another minor evolution in the game are the tombs. While they were impressive, beautiful and breath-taking in Rise, they are terryfing
and deadly in Shadow, Included in this would be the access paths to them as well. According to the words of Morrigan and Daniel, even
to get to the tomb itself will be the real challenge, not to mention amy mistakes when solving the puzzles inside. The tombs are to be
situated underneath mainly, what makes sense in connection with the Maya. Because of this, the main mechanics of swimming and
exploring the underwater passages were drastically improved and changed, should it be very importzant part in the game. The inspiration
for this comes to the team from the fact that the most uncovered and unknown places on the earth are the underwater spaces.
Who else should find their deepest secrets, if not Lara Croft?
Also the junlge has its important part within the game, may it be Lara‘s foe and friend at once. As we already mentioned, the advantages
taken from it before Trinity doesn‘t mean tgat it won‘t instantly try to kill Lara—sghe certainly will not be the only one predator present
in the jungle. Still it‘s soon to speak about what all we with Lara will be facing, but from the short gameplay trailer we have seen we
can confirm jaguars and the water eels... Certainly only the very beginning of the list.
MINOR SPOILERS
If it is on us to summarize the presentation we get from Daniel, Shadow begins with Lara chasing the Trinity, to deal with them once and
for all, It led her to the track of some man called Dominguez, who is leading the expedition to find some Mayan relic. And how better to
kick off the Trinity‘s ....., than to get to the relic first? Lara then succeed in this, but from that very moment things are getting worse and
definitely not how she‘d have wished, and there is the point, where we for the very first time have the chance to see, what an impact can
Lara‘s actions have, and how selfish her actions can sometimes be.
END OF THE SPOILERS
And there we go to the demo version itself—the biggest icing of the cake for the evening (if not counting the free drinks :-P)
The game part was quite big, should it be situated in about 15 minutes from the start. We suggest it should be introduced
by some FMVs and maybe a short gameplay section via flashback like it was in Rise. At the whole, it was a great mixture of
action, climbing, stealth, exploring and puzzle solving, finished with dynamic action part with the emotive ending.
MINOR SPOILERS
At the beginning of the demo, we meet Jonah, Lara‘s old fellow, again with the Reboot hairstyle and slimmer than in Rise. As for Lara‘s
model—it is strongly similar to her model from Rise, but she looks for me more sharper, and her hair were less inflated. Animations were
great and graphically it was comparable to Rise, but it is still work in progress with many details missing from the final product we‘ll get.
Who would be worried about the graphic after Rise, right?
What we can really appreciate was the improvements on voiceover by Camilla Luddington. That Lara from past, which was very often
gasping, coughing or almost crying, is far away from this incarnation. She‘s s confident and determined now. We cracked a smile to the
tone in which Lara had presented her research results to Jonah, and all the following sections were also played brilliantly.
After a short walk with Jonah by our side, the get split and we finally get Lara fully under control, uncovering the first look to Lara!s body
and outfit. Just from the first look, it is clear that the training in the comics series was worth it and Lara‘s arms are much stronger than
in Rise. Even we would love to have her muscles As for the outfit, it was the same as in the game cover, but we suggest the shirt to be
used in the final game instead, as seen on the screens. But now, without any spoilers, let's analyze the demo version:
