This qualification aims to develop an understanding of the importance of eating healthily and maintaining hydration, of food options<br />

and how to make healthy choices. It will help you plan a healthy diet for yourself and others and increase your understanding of eating<br />

disorders, the connections between food and feelings, and ways to seek help and support.<br />

UNDERSTANDING NUTRITION & HEALTH LEVEL 2<br />

This qualification aims to increase knowledge of the principles of healthy eating and the role of food in maintaining health and confidence<br />

in planning and achieving a healthy diet. It provides an understanding of how an individual’s dietary requirements change throughout<br />

their life, an understanding of food labelling and the ability to use information from food labels. It increases knowledge on eating<br />

disorders, the role of a healthy diet for weight management and increases understanding of the principles of food safety in a home<br />

environment.<br />

You must be 18 or over to enrol. As this course requires a good level of English, you will take an assessment during the first class to<br />

confirm your place. This course is delivered via distance learning and takes up to 14 weeks to complete. To succeed on a distance learning<br />

course, you must be motivated to meet deadlines and produce detailed quality work without supervision.<br />
