PESTICIDE SPRAYING<br />

If your job involves the use of chemical pesticides, regulations will affect your working practices. <strong>Shipley</strong> <strong>College</strong> is running this<br />
two-day programme covering all the relevant legislation and codes of practice that regulate the safe use and application of pesticides.<br />
The modules are: Day One: Safe Use of Pesticides (PA1) and Day Two: Pesticide Applications - Handheld Sprayers (PA6).<br />
The course is assessed through both a practical and written examination. The written exam is a multi-choice paper and is taken straight<br />
after the PA1 course is completed. The practical exam will take place on the Friday after the PA6 course is completed.<br />

HORTICULTURE LEVEL 1 AWARD<br />
A 100% fee reduction may apply to you if in receipt of benefits and actively seeking employment<br />
Our work-focused horticulture course could help you start a career outdoors. You will develop new skills and experience in landscaping<br />
and garden maintenance work. This is a short, intensive course where you attend three days per week for three weeks and you will need<br />
basic English and maths. When you successfully complete this award, you could progress on to our Horticulture Level 1 Certificate, or our<br />
<strong>College</strong> based course in Practical Horticultural Skills for one day a week.<br />
