The technical
team is being led by
Darian Hendricks,
and EL Central LFA
vice-president Vuyo
Lambodla. They will
be assisted by Lass
Voges, a qualified
German volunteer.
Hendricks said
both players
underwent an
intensive selection
process, in
consultation with
North End-based
clubs. They will join
the Northern Areas
Local Football
Association, that
sends players to
Barcelona annually
to the Youth Club
tournament.
“The two players,
along with other
soccer players from
the rest of the
country, were in
Cape Town
yesterday travelling
to Doha, Qatar,
en-route to
Barcelona,”
Hendricks said.
He said as an
independent Local
Football Association
(LFA), they were
proud to mould
young footballers
into potentially
world class players.
“We continue to
mould the youth, so
that they get the
best opportunities.
“We will work as
hard as we can to
make sure that we
get these
opportunities for the
young players.
Lambodla said: "I
am extremely
excited that our
development has
reached a stage
where we can send
players to play in
Barcelona against
teams from all over
the world".
He said the LFA
had raised funds
with the help of a
very generous
donation of R4500
from Pefferville
Primary School. The
tournament runs
from today to July 7
