Home & Garden Reading the Small Print There are lots of ways to enjoy your leisure time in and around Milton Keynes. You can try a mindfulness course, book in for a spa day of pampering, brave driving high performance cars or take a hot air balloon trip. The choice is huge, but what happens if you need to cancel? Beware because you may not have the legal right to cancel the contract. You benefit from a 14 day cancellation period if you book something on line or by phone. During this time you can contact the seller to tell them you want to cancel. However, contracts like accommodation related to dated leisure activities are excluded from the legislation – so do not assume that you will benefit from this right. After the 14 days are up you will need to rely on the goodwill of the company you are dealing with. Each contract should come with terms and conditions, which should be made available to you before you book. Read through the terms to find out what the options are for cancelling and what terms the company will require you to agree to. I was given a hot air balloon trip as a birthday present – what the kind gift-giver did not realise was that three years later I would still be trying to book my flight. Because of the weather conditions the operator cancelled dozens of times - their terms and conditions allowed them to do this as many times as they liked. Don’t be disappointed, read the small print.
