back in <strong>Austria</strong> this year<br />
for the first time since<br />
2015, with their brand<br />
new challenger, TBR18.<br />
The University of Bath’s<br />
Formula Student team<br />
consists this year of 20<br />
final year engineering<br />
students, assisted by 45<br />
younger year students.<br />
The design philosophy of this year’s car has been to optimise for transient<br />
performance, meaning developing a racecar that performs excellently in acceleration,<br />
braking and cornering. Based on a full carbon fibre monocoque and powered by a<br />
brand new, turbocharged KTM 690cc single cylinder engine, which is fuelled with E85,<br />
the car produces 70 hp and 77.5 Nm. Running on OZ Racing Magnesium wheels and<br />
Avon tyres, with a full aerodynamics package generating over 1100N of downforce at<br />
80kph, TBR18 promises to be a dynamically excellent Formula Student car.<br />
