DEPARTMENT REPORT | RECREATION
Youth Athletics
For the first time in 15 years, Mauldin has a Dixie Softball All-Star team. The 10U softball players
represented the City of Mauldin very well in June at the Dixie Softball Tournament, and although they
did not win, they gained valuable experience and a desire to play again next year.
The Mauldin Dixie Youth Baseball teams also represented Mauldin well at the Dixie Youth Baseball
Tournament, though Mauldin teams did not make it into the district championship game. With every
season the program continues to improve thanks to the hard work and dedication of its players and
coaches. Mauldin’s 14U players compete at the Dixie Youth Baseball Tournament in July at Timken
Sports Complex in Union, SC. The boys will play two out of three series against Union for the district
Championship.
Lacrosse camp doubled in numbers this year compared to last. Mauldin Lacrosse’s partnership with
Coach Schramm and the Mauldin High Lacrosse team has been a tremendous help to the growing
program. Visit mauldinrecreation.com to learn more about Mauldin’s local youth sports programs.
