In brief
Videalert is expanding with
the opening of a new
Mobile Enforcement Vehicle
(MEV) engineering hub in
Trowbridge, Wiltshire. This
new regional hub will
house a fully equipped
workshop for fitting out and
refurbishing MEVs to meet
the increasing demand
from the company’s
customer base.

BSIA welcomes Simon Banks as
Chairman in busy month for CSL
The British Security Industry Association (BSIA)
has welcomed Simon Banks, Group Managing
Director of CSL, as its new Chairman. The
announcement was made at the British Security
Awards, held at the London Marriott Hotel,
Grosvenor Square in mid-July.
Simon brings with him a wealth of
knowledge gained through his long-standing
career. He co-founded CSL Group (formerly CSL
DualCom) in 1996 to manufacture security and
communications products for the Fire and
Security Sector and from then he has built the
company to become a global provider of
connectivity solutions.
Inner Range reveals fastest
installer at IFSEC 2018
Inner Range added an element of fun to IFSEC
this year by challenging installers to see who
could programme its web-based integrated
access control system, Inception, the fastest.
Inner Range demonstrated how to use its
Simon will be leading the BSIA board,
comprising of 15 Membership Section Head
Directors, in consonance with the advancing
technology and changing attitudes to securing
lives and property.
James Kelly, Chief Executive of the BSIA said,
“Simon’s appointment as Chairman of the BSIA
is very timely and will, I’m sure, be of great
benefit to the Association and our members. As
we seek to extend our membership and bring
about a deeper talent pool for the industry,
Simon’s enthusiasm and connections will help
us to reach new recruits and maintain a high
profile.”
The news came in the same month that CSL
announced its acquisition of WebWayOne. The
transaction will enable the two businesses to
develop new solutions that they otherwise
would not be able to do.
Ed Heale CSL’s CEO, commented: “It’s great
news. Our aim is to always provide the best
possible solution to our customers.
WebWayOne has software capabilities that we
do not have and we look forward to being able
to offer these to our customers.”
Chris Carter Brennan, Managing Director of
WebWayOne, said: “This is a great alliance and
better for our customers. We are delighted to be
able to offer our Conxtd platform to the broader
customer base that CSL has access to.”

How series. Programmers were then invited to
see how quickly they could follow the
instructions and be in with a chance of winning
a smart speaker.
The fastest programmers on each day
announced as John Newbury from Ramtech
Electronics, Nik Mihailovs from Antron Security
and Brett Evans (pictured) from Custom
Technology Solutions.
Tim Northwood, General Manager at Inner
