This course will focus on:<br />
1) Examination techniques in Neuro-ophthalmology<br />
Participants will be invited to examine patients with various neuro-ophthalmic<br />
signs, with video projection to the rest of the audience. Examination techniques<br />
will be critiqued. The faculty will discuss pearls and pitfalls in examination and<br />
demonstrate ideal examination techniques where appropriate.<br />
2) Management of Everyday Neuro-ophthalmic Conditions<br />
The faculty will present a variety of common neuro-ophthalmology scenarios,<br />
asking participants about their clinical approach and management. Afferent and<br />
efferent disorders will be covered.<br />
3) How can Electrophysiology Help Me in Neuro-ophthalmology<br />

This annual seminar is organised by the Infection Control Committee of <strong>SNEC</strong> and<br />
will highlight the importance of infection control and infection surveillance in a<br />
tertiary eye centre.<br />
<strong>SNEC</strong> prides itself on its low postoperative infection rates and the aim of this<br />
seminar is to promote continued awareness of minimising the risk of postoperative<br />
infection among all medical and nursing staff.<br />
The correct technique of hand washing, gowning, instrument handling and<br />
maintaining strict operating theatre sterility will be emphasised. Prophylactic<br />
measures undertaken by the ophthalmic surgeon to prevent postoperative<br />
endophthalmitis will also be discussed in detail.<br />
