1. (a) Cut out shape (A) from the bottom of<br />

the page. Cover the numbers using<br />

the shape in the top left portion of the<br />

grid, i.e. 1, 11 and 12.<br />

(b) Add the numbers.<br />

2. (a) Move the shape one cell to the right to<br />

cover 2, 12 and 13.<br />

(b) Add the numbers.<br />

3. Continue moving the shape one cell to the<br />

right and adding the numbers until you<br />

reach 9, 19 and 20. Write the totals for<br />

each set of three numbers.<br />

5. Place your ‘L’ shape back at the top left of the grid and this time slide the shape one cell<br />

down the grid, i.e. 11, 21 and 22 and calculate the total. Continue moving down the grid<br />

totalling each set of three numbers until you reach the bottom.<br />
