Cllr Natalie Don
I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are starting to get
back into the usual routine. I have several local updates for
you.
ROADS: Residents who have witnessed deer fatalities in Bridge
of Weir when entering/exiting from Brookfi eld have also raised
their concerns with me. I myself have seen deer lying at the
roadside in this area. I am pleased that after I raised this issue
with council offi cers, it was agreed that a warning sign would
be sited. This has now been erected and I hope will make people more aware of
the danger.
The following roads in Bishopton and Bridge of Weir are scheduled for resurfacing
in September.
Bishopton
• A8 Greenock Road – 3rd – 9th September
• Ferry Road – 10th – 23rd September
• Erskine Ferry Road – 24th September – 7th October
Bridge of Weir
• Torr Road – 24th – 30th September
BINS: An issue was raised with me regarding the uncovered bins at the square
in Bridge of Weir. As they are open-topped, birds and other wildlife have open
access to them and this is resulting in rubbish being strewn across the square.
Following my requests to the council, I can confi rm these bins will be replaced
with covered bins as part of the upcoming replacement programme.
Residents should have had some information on the waste changes that will see
the introduction of a new green bin, in an effort to increase household recycling.
The following roadshows will give residents an opportunity to learn more.
• Tuesday 4th September 10am - 1pm at Bishopton Library
• Sunday 9th September 10am - 2pm Livery Walk Car Park, Bridge of Weir
• Sunday 16th September 1pm - 4pm Main Road, Langbank
If you have an issue you would like to raise with me, I can be contacted via email
at cllr.natalie.don@renfrewshire.gov.uk and to keep up to date on local issues,
please follow my Facebook page, Cllr Natalie Don.
