Art lovers will get the chance to meet acclaimed artist<br />
Ben Jeffrey at an open event at Bluebird Fine Art Gallery<br />
this month, one of a series of ‘meet the artist’ events<br />
running throughout the year. The event accompanies an<br />
exhibition of Ben’s work.<br />
Ben’s portfolio is fairly diverse, ranging from portraits to<br />
landscapes in both pencil and oils. He loves working with<br />
vivid, bright colours to create a unique and modern style.<br />
Ben is a huge sci-fi movie fan and loves special effects,<br />
elements of which can be seen throughout his work. He<br />
also takes a lot of inspiration from concept artwork.<br />
Bluebird is an independent gallery selecting artwork from<br />
local and internationally acclaimed artists; they have a<br />
vast portfolio of artists available to them and are working<br />
with some of the country’s leading publishers.<br />
The gallery opened its doors at the end of March based<br />
in the new landmark Piazza building at Mercia Marina,<br />
Willington. Taking one of the largest units with 1,248<br />
square feet the gallery offers a range of fine art including<br />
original oils, limited editions and sculpture covering all<br />
genres from landscape painting, figurative, cityscapes to<br />
quirky pieces.<br />
Bluebird Fine Art is run by Maxine Pincher. Maxine has<br />
more than eight years’ experience running an art gallery<br />
and was previously involved in interior design, planning<br />
kitchens and bathrooms and working for Laura Ashley.<br />
She says: “I love<br />
buying the art for<br />
the gallery and<br />
I love the selling<br />
part too; seeing<br />
the joy on people’s<br />
faces. It can be a<br />
real investment for<br />
some people and<br />
buying a piece<br />
of art is a very<br />
individual choice.<br />
“As we are an<br />
independent<br />
gallery we have<br />
an extensive<br />
portfolio and we<br />
have prices to suit<br />
all denominations<br />
and a range of<br />
genres including landscapes, portraits, figurative, abstract<br />
and cityscapes with the mediums ranging from original<br />
oil painting to signed limited editions. We also have a<br />
fabulous selection of sculptures.”<br />
Artists which Maxine showcases include Ronnie Wood,<br />
Peter Smith, Alex Echo, Caroline Shotton, Sarah<br />
Graham, Paul Kenton, JJ Adams, Craig Davison,<br />
Hamish Blakely, Jeff Rowland and Richard Rowan.<br />
The gallery is open six days a week and welcomes<br />
everyone to come along and enjoy browsing the gallery<br />
