Minutes Two – Three
Complete as many push-ups as you can for two minutes. Even if you only get a couple of
push ups, you are still achieving the mental health benefit. Read more here “How should I
do push-ups to improve brain health?”
Minutes Four – Five
Breathe. Use a meditative breath, meaning breathe one extra count on your exhale than on
your inhale. Inhale 1-2, Exhale 1-2-3. Inhale 1-2-3, Exhale 1-2-3-4. And continue.
My best to you in your efforts to
reduce the negative effects of stress
and recover brain function. For
best results, don’t take a wait and
see approach to stress coping.
Cope throughout the day. As a
rule, when you notice your heart rate increase,
engage deliberately in a stress coping strategy
within that same hour. Time is a friend to no one
and more powerful than us all. If you don’t have
five minutes, try a one minute wall sit with your
meditative breathing.
