SNAP-ON BOOSTS
WORKING LIFE
ENJOYMENT
SNAP-ON’S cloud Altus is designed to make pre- and
post-scan reporting easier than it has been, thanks to
improved functionality, the company says.
“Performing a pre-repair scan can find hidden issues
and make sure customers are aware of problems before
any work is done, while a post-repair scan confirms for
them that repairs and services were completed properly,”
Snap-on says. “With the new release, the Vehicle System
Report for pre- and post-scans on Modis Edge and Solus
Edge can be automatically uploaded to ALTUSDRIVE.
com.”
The document can then be printed, emailed or sent
via text to the customer – a way of boosting customer
confidence, Snap-on says.
The company has added new features to Zeus and
Verus Edge diagnostic tools, which have an improved
menu, backup reminder alert and scanner module quick
connect screen.
“Among many new systems featured are the all around
vision camera for 17 different BMW models; extensive
coverage for the VW Crafter, which is a new vehicle
included in the update; and the electronic parking brake
and lane departure warning for several Mazda models,”
Snap-on says.
DRIVEPRO MAKES ITS DEBUT
FRESH OUT of the Autologic design office is DrivePro, a multi-platform diagnostics tool
combining both diagnostic software with technical support from VM-trained master
technicians.
The new product includes expert guidance and symptom-driven advice at the touch of
a button, alongside flash programming and coding, backed by a Windows 10 platform,
built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
“Building on Autologic’s experience of integrating vehicle diagnostics with live master
technician and software support, we now bring a much broader range of manufacturer
diagnostics together with Remote Assist Programming, enabling our technicians to
remotely program new ECUs with the manufacturers’ own software – all on the same
device.” Andrew Betteley, Autologic chief technical officer.
supported by more than 40
master technicians. As a
result, workshops can feel
confident in using HGS for
all their diagnostic and calibration
needs,” the company
says.
Delphi’s latest diagnostics
tool is said to offer more accurate
information to technicians,
across a range of
vehicle parameters.
DS-nano, which is available
from early 2019, is
based on the stand-alone
DS150E and DS450 tools,
and can read and erase
codes, recode and activate
components and reset service
lights.
“Today’s modern car has
around 300 diagnostics parameters
monitoring the
performance of its systems.
By 2020 it is expected there
will be up to 1000, each one
with the potential to tell garages
something that will
help them locate and solve
faults more quickly,” says
Jean-Francois Bouveyron,
vice president, Delphi Technologies
Aftermarket EMEA
“For garages equipped
with the right tools and expertise,
this provides a significant
opportunity to offer
high-value repairs in a fastgrowing
market. DS-nano
is the perfect first step.”
