EAT IF YOU’VE SPENT YOUR DAY EXPLORING ALL THAT LIVERPOOL HAS TO OFFER THEN YOU’VE PROBABLY WORKED UP QUITE THE APPETITE. 34 Luckily for you the city is bursting at the seams with everything from burgers to bagels…the only problem is that after you’ve sampled them all, your clothes might be too! It doesn’t matter where you are in the city, you’ll be sure to find something to whet your appetite. HOPE STREET For a fine-dining experience like no other then head to one of Liverpool’s most loved neighbourhoods, Hope Street in the Georgian Quarter. If you’re after a special meal that puts fresh, local produce and great flavour as the priority then 60 Hope Street, The Art School or The London Carriage Works are all perfect options. For something a little more relaxed head to The Quarter, we recommend grabbing one of their sharing boards to tuck into with a friend or make a beeline for HOST and sample their small plates. Coffee connoisseurs should pay a visit to 92 Degrees’ coffee who believe they’ve found the perfect temperature for coffee extractions, yes you guessed it, 92 degrees. COMMERCIAL DISTRICT Don’t be fooled into thinking Liverpool’s Commercial District is just full of busy workers heading to and from the office, the area is also full of great restaurants and bars. Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill, in Hotel Indigo, offers phenomenal dishes in a beautiful, understated elegance. For the best pancakes this side of the Atlantic head to Moose Coffee, the ultimate place for a filling breakfast before a day of exploring. It’s not just a place for the early riser either with Fazenda offering the carnivores amongst us the finest selection of cut meats meanwhile tapas at Salt House Bacaro is perfect if you can’t decide what you fancy, we recommend the buttermilk chicken with macaroni cheese. THE WATERFRONT If you find yourself taking in Liverpool’s picturesque waterfront then make sure you stop by one of the great restaurants, many of whom have a view to die for. Lunyalita specialises in Catalan tapas while just along the docks you’ll find Smugglers Cove, a pirate-themed restaurant whose famous hanging kebabs are not to be missed. A local favourite, Rough Hand Made Bakery, can also be found at the Royal Albert Dock. With everything from savoury pasties to sweet treats it will take a whole lot of will power to walk past without popping in! For some of the best views in the city head to Panoramic 34; a restaurant that offers floor to ceiling views from the 34th floor. We recommend treating yourself to afternoon tea with a view of Liverpool’s famous Liver building. LARK LANE Just outside of the city centre you’ll find Lark Lane, a street that comes alive at night with an abundance of independent restaurants. For carnivores, Meat Factory is the place to go with some of the best burgers in town. Chilli Banana is perfect if you’re looking for Thai street food meanwhile the tapas at Monkey Grinder will leave you wondering how many is too many small plates.
