Alliance Seed Cleaning
Association opened in November of
1957. For the first 20 years they
didn’t do much more than the
cleaning and treating of cereals.
Over the years there have
been many upgrades, always
growing to serve the community
better.
They now have a testing and
bagging facility that will handle
25 kg bags up to 750 kg mini
bulks. A 90 foot (70 tonne) scale
has been installed along with a
5,000 bushel per hour leg to
handle the large loads.
They can now inoculate peas
and are licensed to apply
Provide on canola, peas and
wheat. A few years ago they
started having feed and basic
veterinary supplies available for
you.
The Alliance Seed Cleaning
received their Warehousing
Standards Certificate in 1999.
During their busy times they
will employ up to six people.

Diverse service for 15 years
There is always something new
when it comes to the Alliance based
shop, Main Street Medley.
The business specializes in a
number of unique services like
embroidery, signs, engraving, canvas
wraps, printing, full-colour heat
transfers, and custom T-Shirts.
They also use a direct-to-garment
printer for specialized orders and a
large scale printer that can print up
to a 4’ x 8’.
Main Street Medley is
more than happy to do
custom orders and ship anywhere
on top of their other
services.
The Back 40 Button
Company was an idea that
spurred from the use of their
back room where they make
pinback buttons, button magnets,
and coasters.
Owner Laurie Fuller attributes
15 successful years in
business to the diverse
options they provide customers as
well as their consistent friendly
attitude.
“I think the diversity plus our customer
service – We have a lot of
repeat customers. We treat everybody
the same whether they order 1
item or 100. Each order is the same to
us,” said Fuller.
Currently four staff, including
Laurie, run the facility.
It all started when Laurie and her
husband became empty nesters,
eager to work together.
Laurie started with sublimation
and signage in the basement of their
home.
Eventually, Laurie’s husband
switched jobs in the oil company
where they wouldn’t allow wives on
the lease site.
This was where they bought the
current building they are in
now on main street, hence
the name ‘Main Street
Medley’.
Later, they bought the
Gas Co-op next door to
expand their business and
number of services.
“You never know what
you’ll find here. If you come
in one day it may not be
here the next and we might
not be getting any more in
so if you like it, you better
buy it,” said Fuller.
