Kilmacolm Primary School
Clydemuirshiel rangers have been visiting
Kilmacolm Primary School and bringing our
Outdoor Learning to life! Primary 2 had a
fabulous time exploring the forest in search of
mini beasts whilst Primary 3 created hedgehog
houses just in time for hibernation.
The Advertizer
Houston Toddler Group
We have been having lots of fun
recently including a fun visit from
Jo at Musicland. All the children
enjoyed singing and dancing to
nursery rhymes and songs led
by Jo.
We had lots of fun with
Halloween crafts and snacks.
The children enjoyed showing off
their costumes.
We are now getting ready for
Christmas and we are very much
looking forward to our Christmas
party on 22nd December and
hopefully Santa will be able to
drop by for a visit.
We welcome all children age
between 0-4 years old, together
with their parents, grandparents or carers to join in with the games, crafts
and play on offer every Thursday. The children can enjoy playing, making
friends and of course snack time while the adults can catch up with a
cuppa.
We meet between 9.30am - 11.30am so come along when you are ready
to the West Hall, Main street Houston PA67EL (next to Carrick centre). We
look forward to meeting you all!
The KPS cooking classroom has been busy making soup as part of the
Grow and Cook project. Primary 7 pupils selected some leeks from the
school garden and turned them into tasty potato and leek soup. The soup
was shared with our friends at The Haven who helped set up our KPS
garden.
Val Boa the curator of the Watt
Museum visited the school to launch
the KPS virtual Watt Walk. This
year during our daily MUGA mile,
we will be walking a virtual tour of
James Watt’s life. Along the way we
will be learning about the different
inventions that Watt helped create
and learning more about this local hero.
Duchal Nursery School
With some “ghoulishly delightful”
outfits from the children, we had
lots of “spook-tacular” fun, mess
and laughter at our Halloween
party. Everyone really got into the
“spirit” of the occasion, there were
some “fang-tastic” jokes, “hairraising”
tales and “boo-tiful” tunes
- a truly magical time thank you to
everyone who came. If you missed
out but would like to see what Duchal
can offer your child for nursery care
please get in touch.
At Duchal Nursery the children are
introduced to different cultures and celebrations. Recently we have been
learning about Diwali and all the celebrations involved. The children have
made clay tea lights and decorated the nursery with our own lights.
As the end of term gets closer we start to get in the mood for the Festive
season and can’t wait for our annual trip to the Tron Theatre in Glasgow
for much Christmas cheer. There are lots of Christmas decorations busily
being made and preparations are well under way for our annual Nativity
and Christmas party.
There are a few limited spaces in the nursery at present, or if you are
looking for a place for 2019 onwards please do get in touch. We are happy
for visits to see our facilities and meet the teachers at any time, please
contact us on: 01505 874358 to arrange a convenient time. Also visit our
website at: www.duchal.com or find us on Facebook to keep up to date with
all the latest news
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas from all at Duchal Nursery.
Langbank Playgroup
What an amazing
place to be! At
playgroup, children
have the opportunity
to develop their social
skills, independence,
creativity, numeracy,
literacy skills and many,
many more…..
Over the last month,
the children have had
the opportunity to
experience a Bookbug session from the “Skoobmobile” team, where they
learned new songs and listened to a story. We have also had our fi rst visit
from Paddy from Morton football, where the children had the opportunity to
develop their co-ordination and listening skills.
We also held a very successful and well attended family Halloween Disco,
where there was dancing, singing and “Mummy” wrapping too!
We are now preparing for our Christmas visit from Artie’s Tartan Tales,
where the children will be participating in some new songs and stories.
Do you have a child aged between 2.5yrs to 5yrs old? Then why not
let them come along and experience the fun! Everyone welcome from
Langbank and surrounding areas.
Playgroup is held on a Friday morning (term time) in Langbank Village Hall
and we currently have spaces for children aged 2.5yrs to 5yrs. If you would
