THE HONEST KITCHEN<br />

<strong>CHIOS</strong> <strong>Social</strong> <strong>Lounge</strong> is launching a unique and<br />

ambitious concept – the honest kitchen.<br />

We have started the revolution of good taste<br />

and bon goût in the heart of Cluj-Napoca and<br />

we have reinvented ourselves. The core of our<br />

vision? The human being and its individual and<br />

collective evolution.<br />

We started by testing the honest kitchen, one<br />

of the most important virtues of our entire<br />

philosophy. As the very name of the cuisine<br />

suggests, our attitude towards customers is<br />

naturally honest. Moreover, the quality of food<br />

reflects on our health. A healthy individual<br />

is active, creative and prosperous, both for<br />

himself/herself and the greater good.<br />

We constantly strive to serve our customers<br />

only quality food of the highest standards.<br />

Consequently, our gastronomy consultants are<br />

continually making sure that our menu is no less<br />

than exclusivist. We are always concerned with<br />

the quality of our food; this is why we refuse to<br />

use chemicals in our dishes, and our ingredients<br />

are always natural and freshly bought from local<br />

producers and suppliers. Where the Romanian<br />

market is unable to meet our demands, we<br />

import ingredients from those international<br />

producers who do not compromise on quality.<br />

For us, the authentic taste of our food is a top<br />

priority. As such, if we want to smoke certain<br />

products, we will do it in-house, using cherry<br />

and apple wood, which confers a special flavour<br />

to our food. Furthermore, we replace sugar with<br />

honey or molasses. Sauces are home cooked<br />

using an original recipe, and the selection of<br />

different types of bread is also the work of our


talented chefs. We are very proud of our squid<br />

ink bread, unique in the area.<br />

As supporters of Mindful Eating, we make<br />

sure that our space offers each customer the<br />

opportunity to relax while savouring our dishes.<br />

We would like to make every visit to Chios<br />

a special experience full of unique sensations.<br />

Mindfulness is a technique designed to improve<br />

well-being. It helps us eliminate stress and<br />

reach an ideal weight. Another great advantage<br />

of this technique is that mindfulness helps us<br />

improve focus, managing to keep us here and<br />

now.<br />

essential, and accepting all of the sensations<br />

our body experiences is vital to a general state<br />

of well-being.<br />

If we become aware of our physiological<br />

sensations of hunger and fullness instead of<br />

focusing on worrying for example about every<br />

ingested calorie, we will be able to eat the<br />

exact quantity of food that our body needs. In<br />

a nutshell, we want to learn to eat consciously!<br />

Mindful Eating is accessible to all persons<br />

who want to better themselves physically and<br />

spiritually.<br />

What does mindfulness have to do with food?<br />

Practically, it teaches us how to eat. Correct<br />

breathing is one of the key elements in this<br />

process. A well oxygenated brain helps us<br />
