CELEBRATE KOMANI<br />

What you can do in Komani this holiday …<br />
It’s been a long year, and you just want to relax<br />
and enjoy life.<br />
You are either visiting family and friends in<br />
Komani or you are a long-time resident with<br />
some free time on your hands, so why not use<br />
the opportunity to explore this delightful town<br />
with its beautiful scenery and interesting<br />
people?<br />

to go and what to do during these long summer<br />

ý Play mini golf at the Queens Hotel and<br />
Casino. While you’re there, let the children play<br />
on the jungle gym and enjoy a hearty meal.<br />
Visit the casino and enjoy some entertainment;<br />
ý Visit the recently-revamped Queenstown<br />
and Frontier Museum. <strong>The</strong>re are stunning<br />
displays of the history of the town and area;<br />
ý Watch out for entertainment and gigs<br />
during the festive season at various spots in<br />
and around town;<br />
ý Climb Bowker’s Kop. Be on the lookout for<br />
snakes – it’s hot and it’s dry – and leave only<br />
footprints and no litter please. Enjoy the view of<br />
the town and of the Berry Dam reservoir below;<br />
ý Up to some retail therapy or need to buy a<br />
last-minute Christmas gift? <strong>The</strong>re are some<br />
great stores in Komani which will allow some<br />
quality time browsing and shopping;<br />
ý Explore! <strong>The</strong>re are some lovely places to<br />
visit, including quaint and historic towns within<br />
a short distance of Komani;<br />
ý Have a look at some of the historic<br />
buildings, including beautiful buildings, in and<br />
around the area;<br />
ý If you’re in the mood for a good meal,<br />
you’ve come to the right town. Komani boasts<br />
some excellent eateries and restaurants so<br />
whether you want a bite on the go or whether<br />
you want to sit down for a leisurely lunch or<br />
supper, we have you covered;<br />
ý <strong>The</strong> municipally-owned Lawrence de Lange<br />
nature reserve just outside Komani is an<br />
absolute treat for families. Visit the reserve and<br />
see some stunning wildlife with the town in the<br />
background – truly a sight to behold;<br />
ý Check out our local fauna and flora –<br />
Komani is believed to be the only place in the<br />
world that the tamboekie thorn grows, so if you<br />
