You are either visiting family and friends in Komani or you are a long-time resident with some free time on your hands, so why not use the opportunity to explore this delightful town with its beautiful scenery and interesting people? The Rep has compiled some ideas on where to go and what to do during these long summer d ay s : ý Play mini golf at the Queens Hotel and Casino. While you’re there, let the children play on the jungle gym and enjoy a hearty meal. Visit the casino and enjoy some entertainment; ý Visit the recently-revamped Queenstown and Frontier Museum. There are stunning displays of the history of the town and area; ý Watch out for entertainment and gigs during the festive season at various spots in and around town; ý Climb Bowker’s Kop. Be on the lookout for snakes – it’s hot and it’s dry – and leave only footprints and no litter please. Enjoy the view of the town and of the Berry Dam reservoir below; ý Up to some retail therapy or need to buy a last-minute Christmas gift? There are some great stores in Komani which will allow some quality time browsing and shopping; ý Explore! There are some lovely places to visit, including quaint and historic towns within a short distance of Komani; ý Have a look at some of the historic buildings, including beautiful buildings, in and around the area; ý If you’re in the mood for a good meal, you’ve come to the right town. Komani boasts some excellent eateries and restaurants so whether you want a bite on the go or whether you want to sit down for a leisurely lunch or supper, we have you covered; ý The municipally-owned Lawrence de Lange nature reserve just outside Komani is an absolute treat for families. The aim was to provide a platform for business networking. The open market had various local ent repreneurs showcasing their businesses while interacting and exchanging business ideas to support growth in business. Nelani indicated the event was held to enhance the level of understanding when it came to culture, academics, arts, fashion, food and lifestyle, and to motivate young people in Komani to pursue their dreams. “Our mission and objective is to gather people who are passionate about growing and developing the Eastern Cape in the various forms of arts. Funding is one of the major limitations that hinders the success of ent repreneurs. “I have invested in several academic courses such m a r ke t i n g , interpersonal communication and social media management, general books, and attended events, seminars and c o n s u l t at i o n workshops. “All this costs money and is necessary to grow personally and to achieve success in business,” he said. His business faced a challenge of people not understanding what it was about and that affected potential sponsorships that would elevate his company to what he wanted it to be, Nelani said. “The issue with sponsors is that Komani is a small town and everyone goes to the same people for assistance. Some funders do not want to associate themselves with companies whose reputation they do not k n o w. ” Nelani called on all big businesses, who wanted to see young, independent entrepreneurs succeed, to back his business.
