Fundraising campaign hospital’s largest ever

In 2016, the Madison Health Foundation
launched the “Building on Excellence” campaign,
the largest in the history of the hospital,
to build a new emergency department,
cancer center and medical specialist office
space. In addition, the project included renovating
the Birthing Center, connecting the
Park Avenue Medical Building, and various
infrastructure upgrades.
“This fundraising campaign has been the
most successful in the history of the Madison
Health Foundation, raising $4.5 million
to date,” said Dr. Mitch Spahn, co-chair of
the Building on Excellence campaign. The
campaign goal is $6 million. “The Byers
family lead gift of $1 million followed by the
$500,000 pledge by the associates of Stanley
Electric and the multitude of individual
gifts we have received, shows the commitment
of this community to have quality
health care services close to home.”
Ginger Kronk, executive director of the
Foundation, added, “The support of the community
has been phenomenal. When people
and businesses come together, it makes a
large impact. Through personal experiences,
people increasingly are realizing the
importance of quality health care in our
community. Emergency services, cancer
care and the expanding network of medical
specialists provides enhanced medical care
to the people who live and work in and
around Madison County.”
When asked why they give to the Madison
Health Foundation, Ed and Michelle
Goodyear said, “We believe a local healthcare
presence is important for the service and
comfort of our community’s citizens, as well
as the viability of the community in general.
Supporting Madison Health is a way we can
give back and make the community better.”
Recently, Madison Health became the
highest ranking full-service hospital in the
organization’s market area in patient experience
from the Centers for Medicare and
Medicaid Services. This ranking reflects
Madison Health’s commitment to producing
quality patient outcomes in a life-saving environment,
close to home.
“Having access to an emergency department
within minutes is crucial to a community,”
said Choctaw Lake resident and donor
Angie Wilderman. “On two different occasions,
being so close to Madison Health truly
saved my family members’ lives.”
The mission of the Madison Health
Foundation is to support Madison Health
and close-to-home quality care. The Madison
Health Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable
organization with 100 percent of contributions
going toward patient services,
equipment and enhancement of hospital facilities.
The funds being raised will continue
to go toward the expansion and renovation
project and increased patient care services.
