Guides, Brownies & Rainbows
All Units commenced the New Programme in
Guiding in September. The Leaders have been
working and training, voluntarilyy, to
understand and use the activities in the Unit.
One of the many changes to the programme is
that Interest badges have been introduced for
the first time in Rainbows as well as across
other sections and are to be done at home. A
Rainbow has achieved her first interest badge in
the District, congratulations. Rainbows also
had their biggest promise night welcoming 8
new Rainbows.
Brownies are looking forward to Christmas
activities. Some of our Brownie Units are
looking forward to their annual Christmas meal
at The Hit or Miss
in Penn Street and
celebrating at the
Pizza Hut. 5th
Brownies will be
entertaining the
residents of
Hughenden Court
in December who
always make them
very welcome.

Sadly, our numbers of Brownies on the
waiting list eligible to join have diminished,
meaning that our Brownie Units are not full.
This does have a financial impact on our Units
and for Leaders running a Unit with lower
numbers. If your daughter is 7 or 8 years old
and would like to join Brownies please register
an interest on girlguiding.uk.org.
Having said that the Guide Unit is full and
thriving. A day was spent at Beaconsfield Guide
centre with a Hawaiin theme. In their patrols the
girls had to make a grass skirt and flower
garland out of crepe paper along with many
other activities. They also did a local quiz
walking around the Old town of Beaconsfield.
Kingswood Adult Guiding (Trefoil) with the
rest of the County, celebrated their 75th
Birthday with a Tea party at Aylesbury which
was attended by over 70 members and will be
attending a Thanksgiving service at RAF Halton
as a final celebration. Sue Stephens
Village Care
At Christmas, Village Care Volunteers will be
driving our Clients until the end of Friday 14th
December, and we will start driving again on
Wednesday 2nd January 2018. We do wish all
our Clients, Volunteers and Open Gardeners a
Happy Christmas and a good New Year. In case
of emergency during the holiday, please ring

Twenty five Volunteers joined us for our
AGM on 12th October, where we reported that
we had a record 341 people going round our
beautiful Open Gardens this year, with record
