ticket and teas takings of over £2000 for this
very social event in our Village. We now have
over £4000 available for local charitable
donations, and we would be grateful for any
suggestions on spending it. It is noteworthy that
Village Care did over 700 client trips in the past
year, for 70 clients.
A large contingent from Village Care attended
an excellent tea party at the Tylers Green
Middle School, part of their celebrations for the
School’s 50th Anniversary. There were
beautifully decorated tables with vintage tea
services and cakestands and an excellent
exhibition of the school through the 50 years.
Thank you to the School for inviting Village
Care clients.
We have a fairly constant loss of volunteers
who move away from the Village, and we
always need to replace them. We are in need of
new drivers, if you have a little spare time and a
car. There is no obligation, and we would only
need you, when you are available, for one day a
month. If you would like to discuss this very
worth-while work, please ring Rob (817893).
We also need more telephonists, again
without obligation and for only one morning a
month; please ring Gillian on 815693 to join
this cheerful team.
But we have recruited not one, but two new
Treasurers, Peter Johnson and Andrew Duxbury,
and we look forward to working with them.

P&TG Scout Group
Back in October our Autumn jumble sale went
really well again. A big Thank You to everyone
who helped make it all work so well. Sorry but
there are so many of you involved we don’t
have space to mention you individually. We
hope to see you all at the next one, Saturday 6th
April 2019.
One small fly in the ointment was our local
council changing procedures and rules at the
local household recycling centres (dumps). We
always have a residue of items we have to take

there after our jumble sales following various
charity groups taking what's viable for them.
New rules mean charity dumping (what we do)
cannot be at the weekend now. They want it all
to go over their weighbridge which is only
manned Monday to Friday. Tricky as most of us
work Monday to Friday so unloading a van
midweek is our new challenge.
The group is always on the lookout for new
blood. Great breaking news, we have in the last
couple of months welcomed some new help in
the form of scout leaders, assistants and exec
members. We are still hoping to enlist help for
our Beaver & Cub sections. If you want to or
know anybody looking to help or you have boys
and girls wanting to join our Group then please
contact us.

Christmas Scout Post
Our Scout-Post boxes have been dusted down,
it's that time of year again. We have recruited
our posties and our special Scout Post
Christmas Card delivery service is ready. To any
new residents in the villages: we run a
Christmas card postal service selling stamps &
delivering cards to the following areas. Manor
Farm, Tylers Green and most of Penn. You will
find information posted around the villages in
December. We will have post boxes situated at
the following places: The Village Hall, Kings
Ride Supermarket, Filippos Hairdressers,
Lansdales Pharmacy, Joe Gleeson's Butcher,
Londis Supermarket, JJ’s Delicatessen and
Tyler’s Green Middle School (post box only).
They will all have our Scout-Post boxes and they
will be selling our special stamps. The cost
remains at £1.00 for a strip of 6 stamps. The
post boxes will be out at the beginning of
December, last day for posting is Saturday 15th
December. We rely on an army of postie/
helpers, if asked to help please give it a go. We
have a core of posties who have done this for
many years and enjoy a Sunday morning stroll
delivering the cards.
