VASELINE
Vaseline is a semi-solid mixture of hydrocarbons
obtained from mineral oil and used as an ointment
in pharmacy.
In addition to vaseline used in pharmacy, there is also
a technical vaseline which is used in the industry as
an effective, anti-corrosion lubricant. It is chemically
neutral to all materials.
Vaseline serves as a basis for the production of
milking fat, as antifreeze for car door gums, for the
care and protection of objects made of smooth
leather, and much more.
There are different types of vaseline:

Vaselinum album: a purified, almost completely
decolourised mixture of semi-solid hydrocarbons.

Vaselinum flavum: Yellow vaseline; contains
minor impurities, including aromatic polycyclic
hydrocarbons.
