overcompensating for being dehydrated and so it can be a
vicious circle. Finding the right products for your skin type
is key.
Don’t be afraid of using a hydrating face serum or healing
natural oil in your skincare routine. If you’re unsure of which
one is right for your skin type we’re happy to offer you
advice.
#3 The more expensive the product, the
better quality it is?
This myth frustrates me the most. I hate to see people
waste money on the strength of a brand without checking
out the ingredients. Sometimes less is more - As the old
saying goes!
Many products with less ingredients, and simpler
formulation processes are more cost effective and can offer
you a purer product at a potentially higher quality.
The size of the marketing budget is not indicative of the
efficacy of the product.
Always check the labels of the products you’re buying
to ensure they fit your ethical choices as well as match
your skincare requirements. Don’t worry if the labels look
confusing - we can help you.
skin. However there are far more effective
methods to heal burns.
My bathroom essential is always Argan oil,
it’s fantastic for many things and healing
burns is one of my favourites… I have tested
this theory many times!
If you are unfortunate enough to burn
yourself (mines normally on the iron or the
oven!) I recommend running the affected
area under the tap or applying ice to soothe
the burn and reduce the heat in the skin.
Followed by regular applications of Argan oil
until the burn has gone.
#4 Squeeze spots / black heads to get
rid of them quicker
Popping spots can be so satisfying but it can be bad for
you as it opens your skin up to potential infection.
Squeezing your spots can cause debris further into the
follicles causing your unwanted spots to stick around for
longer and become more inflamed!
It can be so hard to resist the urge especially when it’s a
spot or blackhead on your face but your safest option to
avoid scarring is to regularly cleanse the skin.
#5 Use butter to heal burns
That ouch moment when you burn yourself can leave you
reaching for the nearest tap or even slab of butter!
This old wives tale has been around for many many years
and there is a small amount of truth in it as butter contains
natural fats which can help to soothe and protect the
