On, was <strong>in</strong>spired <strong>to</strong> start the<br />

company after fac<strong>in</strong>g a common<br />

scenario experienced by almost<br />

everyone at some po<strong>in</strong>t. In an<br />

important meet<strong>in</strong>g, his mobile rang<br />

with an unknown number. Amit<br />

found himself on the end of a spam<br />

call. It was then that he decided that<br />

st<br />

<strong>in</strong> the 21 century, with caller<br />

<strong>in</strong>formation already publically<br />

available, it made no sense <strong>to</strong> be<br />

ignorant as <strong>to</strong> who was call<strong>in</strong>g. This<br />

pivotal moment led Amit <strong>to</strong> launch<br />

CallApp, us<strong>in</strong>g smart data <strong>to</strong> create<br />

proprietary algorithms which are<br />

now the backbone of CallApp. Now<br />

2. Brief us about the Founder/CEO<br />

of the company? Share with us the<br />

struggle or hardship s<strong>to</strong>ry that<br />

worked as the strength beh<strong>in</strong>d the<br />

Amit started his journey at a young<br />

age, start<strong>in</strong>g his first tech company, a<br />

popular BBS, at age 14. A few years<br />

later at 16, the <strong>in</strong>ternet arrived and<br />

changed his life forever. While still<br />

<strong>in</strong> high school, Amit worked for two<br />

different startups, both later acquired<br />

by larger companies. At 18, Amit’s<br />

passion and leadership qualities<br />

landed him a position <strong>in</strong> the IDF’s<br />

Special Intelligence Technology<br />

Unit. After the IDF, Amit jo<strong>in</strong>ed a<br />

startup called Followap as a<br />

developer. Once aga<strong>in</strong>, Amit excelled<br />

<strong>in</strong> his work and climbed the ladder <strong>to</strong><br />

become Chief Architect. Followap<br />

was then acquired for approximately<br />

$140M by US company Neustar.<br />

Follow<strong>in</strong>g his successes at Followap,<br />

he jo<strong>in</strong>ed the startup Amobee as the<br />

company’s CTO for four years. After<br />

years of hard work, Amobee was<br />

acquired by S<strong>in</strong>gtel for<br />

approximately $340M. When Amit<br />

decided <strong>to</strong> create CallApp, it was out<br />

of a profound desire <strong>to</strong> empower<br />

people with more caller contact<br />

Rajan has some core beliefs that set the foundations for<br />

our company, where<strong>in</strong> people hold the utmost value. We<br />

strive <strong>to</strong> add value <strong>to</strong> people’s lives both <strong>in</strong>ternal i.e. our<br />

employees & external i.e. our cus<strong>to</strong>mers and partners.<br />

This is the guid<strong>in</strong>g pr<strong>in</strong>ciple on which we want <strong>to</strong> build<br />

our organization. We know we are a young company and<br />

not every prospect is go<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> be converted that’s why<br />

sensor-generated alert based proactive delivery,<br />

personalized service offer<strong>in</strong>gs, and dynamic pric<strong>in</strong>g as<br />

per user. We are just try<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> fill <strong>in</strong> this gap and use it <strong>to</strong><br />

our best advantage. Our team has already set a list of<br />

goals what we need <strong>to</strong> achieve by the next year which<br />

<strong>in</strong>cludes <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g our vehicle base <strong>to</strong> 3,00,000 vehicles<br />

In India, currently, only 12 per cent of the market is really <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong> advanced telematics. Hence the OEMs<br />

<strong>to</strong>day are reth<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g their features and add VTS services as a standard <strong>in</strong> the new upcom<strong>in</strong>g commercial<br />

goods transportation vehicle systems as a driv<strong>in</strong>g force <strong>in</strong> the market. With the ever grow<strong>in</strong>g market and<br />

Our days of childhood would<br />

have been bor<strong>in</strong>g had there<br />

not been s<strong>to</strong>ries. <strong>The</strong>y<br />

helped us grow, imag<strong>in</strong>e, pa<strong>in</strong>t our<br />

own world with every possible<br />

colour, and showed us a way we<br />

wanted <strong>to</strong> live when we grew up.<br />

Comic books, car<strong>to</strong>ons, movies were<br />

and are an <strong>in</strong>tegral part of grow<strong>in</strong>g<br />

up and learn<strong>in</strong>g. Those characters<br />

and their vivid pictures s<strong>to</strong>od them<br />

out as our virtual friends. We learnt<br />

more about the world and life us<strong>in</strong>g<br />

our vision and visual memory than<br />

just pla<strong>in</strong> read<strong>in</strong>g and writ<strong>in</strong>g. With<br />

age and responsibilities, the s<strong>to</strong>ries<br />

fade but rema<strong>in</strong> buried <strong>in</strong> our<br />

memories wait<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> surface with<br />

time. But some, like Ajay Prakash<br />

and Prathap Reddy, refuse <strong>to</strong> let the<br />

s<strong>to</strong>ries die and grow up <strong>to</strong> be<br />

S<strong>to</strong>rytellers.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Protagonist<br />

<strong>The</strong> entrepreneur bug bit Prathap<br />

early on and even while he attended<br />

Animation School, he couldn’t help<br />

but dream about mak<strong>in</strong>g movies, all<br />

k<strong>in</strong>ds of movies. Be it animation, 2D,<br />

3D or the largest of them all, that big<br />

magnum opus releases on every<br />

Friday. <strong>The</strong> only way forward <strong>to</strong><br />

chase that dream was <strong>to</strong> start a<br />

venture which would take him all the<br />

way there. So <strong>in</strong> 2013, he conv<strong>in</strong>ced<br />

Ajay <strong>to</strong> put down papers at Tata Elxi<br />

<strong>to</strong> start Tattva Studios.<br />

Tattva as a name stands for<br />

pr<strong>in</strong>ciples, truth and just. <strong>The</strong> same<br />

ideals are passed on <strong>to</strong> the company<br />

by the Founders. When servic<strong>in</strong>g its<br />

clients, the team goes out of the way<br />

by work<strong>in</strong>g extra hours and help<strong>in</strong>g<br />

them achieve their goals which<br />

makes them happy and gives the<br />

team satisfaction.<br />

Develop<strong>in</strong>g the S<strong>to</strong>ry<br />

It all started with one project without<br />

even a team. <strong>The</strong> early days saw the<br />

team manag<strong>in</strong>g it out with a small<br />

office, which had a place for three<br />

but six people were stuffed. <strong>The</strong><br />

Studio has grown <strong>in</strong> an organic way<br />

and is look<strong>in</strong>g forward <strong>to</strong> build<strong>in</strong>g a<br />

team do<strong>in</strong>g works on par with<br />

MPC’s, Dream Works and<br />

Technicolors of the world.<br />

Adapt<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> challenges is an essential<br />

part of be<strong>in</strong>g a creative agency.<br />

Tattva started off by mak<strong>in</strong>g brand<br />

videos, corporate videos us<strong>in</strong>g<br />

ma<strong>in</strong>ly motion graphics, and had <strong>to</strong><br />

build the company with two<br />

verticals. <strong>The</strong> First Vertical -Motion<br />

Graphics managed all the market<strong>in</strong>g<br />

video requirements of our clients,<br />

right from social media videos <strong>to</strong><br />

their brand videos, events, product<br />

videos etc. <strong>The</strong> second Vertical<br />

focused at Visual Effects and Ad films<br />

which helped it <strong>to</strong> get clients <strong>in</strong> the<br />

film <strong>in</strong>dustry and Advertis<strong>in</strong>g<br />

started contribut<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> the <strong>in</strong>dustry.<br />

As an entrepreneur, Prathap<br />

understands the situations that fellow<br />

youngsters face. He counsels them<br />

say<strong>in</strong>g “First important th<strong>in</strong>g is <strong>to</strong><br />

dream big and believe <strong>in</strong> it, stay put<br />

and get your strategies right from<br />

day one.” He advises them <strong>to</strong> be<br />

flexible with the way changes<br />

happen. It should change strategies if<br />

Mak<strong>in</strong>g partnerships is equally<br />

important as <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>dustry; partners<br />

It’s been five years that Tattva has<br />

worked with the IT giants like<br />

Infosys and TCS. <strong>The</strong>y have helped<br />

it grow from its first project. <strong>The</strong><br />

Studio’s 2020 goal is <strong>to</strong> set up its<br />

bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>in</strong> LA <strong>in</strong> the US and London<br />

for the UK market. Both these<br />

markets are qu<strong>in</strong>tessential for it <strong>to</strong><br />

build and grow, also tapp<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong><br />

these markets which have<br />

multibillion-dollar opportunities.<br />

Currently, VFX bus<strong>in</strong>ess is ruled by<br />

the bigwigs from the <strong>in</strong>dustry, but<br />

said that their cost of operation is so<br />

high that big filmmakers are slowly<br />

look<strong>in</strong>g the outsource way, and India<br />

is the place for their films <strong>to</strong> get all<br />

the VFX done without los<strong>in</strong>g on<br />

quality. This trend has already begun;<br />

it’s a matter time when 30 <strong>to</strong> 40% of<br />

that bus<strong>in</strong>ess will come <strong>to</strong> companies<br />

like Tattva. It is about <strong>to</strong> release its<br />

<strong>in</strong>-house VFX film and is look<strong>in</strong>g<br />

forward <strong>to</strong> work with Hotstar and<br />

Junglee Pictures for a web series and<br />

a feature film. And so, Tattva<br />
