Construction project.
From landmark projects such as Shreveport’s
Riverfront Festival Plaza to industrial giants
such as the General Motors plant expansion,
Hand Construction, LLC, is building for the
future, not just in Shreveport and Bossier City
but throughout the South and West.
Founded in 1980 by Owner and President M.
Cayce Hand, the company is one of the largest
general contracting firms in this region, and is fully
licensed in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Florida,
Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and California.
From Hand Construction’s headquarters at
5902 Buncombe Road in Shreveport, its full-time
staff oversees major projects for clients in all
eight states.
The firm’s vast experience includes construction
of institutional, multi-family residential, industrial,
and commercial projects. Through the years,
its managers and supervisors have proved their
qualifications again and again, and have acquired
expertise in dealing with local, state, and federal
agencies. This enables Hand Construction
to provide a total package for any construction
project. The company offers full design-build
services, taking a client’s project from the idea
stage to the finished product.
A special point of pride for Hand Construction,
LLC, is its Safety-Loss Control Program, for which
it has received numerous awards. Its Experience
Modification Factor, a standard by which the
construction industry measures safety, is among
the best in the business, as is its record with the
federal Occupational Safety and Health
Administration. This is because the company
makes safety procedures a priority in its hiring,
employee orientation, and daily work. In his
policy statement, Cayce Hand says, “It is my
intent that all company employees devote serious
attention toward making this program an integral
part of their day-to-day operations.”
Not only does this provide a safe working
environment for all Hand Construction
employees and the general public, it also
reduces the costs that would otherwise be
incurred by on-the-job accidents. Considering
the size and complexity of its many projects, the
company’s safety record is truly remarkable.
The quality of Hand Construction’s work is
evident throughout the region. The U.S. Post
Office-Lynbrook Station; the Knight Street Office
Building; Hebert’s Town & Country Chrysler Jeep
Plymouth; the CHRISTUS Schumpert Mercy
Center; the Marriott Fairfield Inn; and Cedar
Creek Apartments are just a few of its Shreveport
projects. Construction projects in Bossier City
include Cypress Pointe Apartments, the Wray
Ford dealership, White Oak Apartments, and
