EXCITING news! Concrete work for the<br />
next stage of the Richmond Club’s<br />
redevelopment is underway. This stunning<br />
new architecturally designed building is<br />
going to be impressive.<br />
“<strong>The</strong> building will serve as the main Club<br />
facility,” said Jimmy Summerfield, general<br />
manager. “As well as a 500 capacity<br />
Members Lounge, it will accommodate a<br />
restaurant, bistro, three international grade<br />
squash courts, a multi-purpose function<br />
room, pool and snooker hall, and a live<br />
entertainment venue with pull down<br />
screens for live sport.”<br />
Jimmy, a born and bred Cantabrian with<br />
a solid background in hospitality, was<br />
appointed the role of general manager at the<br />
end of last year. Prior to this the<br />
internationally award winning Mixiologist<br />
ran his own hospitality businesses including<br />
the well-respected Flying Burrito Brothers.<br />
“Clubs need to develop for the future<br />
without forgetting their history. We expect<br />
the redevelopment to appeal to a wider<br />
demographic. What we are offering will be<br />
fantastic, making us one of the best clubs in<br />
NZ.”<br />
Taking pride in understanding customers<br />
needs, Jimmy says the club will offer a more<br />
family friendly environment while<br />
continuing to promote club traditions and<br />
sporting sections.<br />
