REMODELERS CORNER
929 Design Inc. has been in business for more than 13 years.
The bulk of owner Monica Boeckenstedt’s work is design
and sale of cabinets for new construction and remodels.
Monica had an office in Cedar Rapids but when the
building was purchased, she decided to begin working from
her Coralville home. According to Monica, now working
from home only made her feel “slightly” guilty about
updating her 5-year-old kitchen.
“Personalized space planning, flow and function are
paramount to me. Then comes making a space look
stunning,” said Monica. The main goals of the remodel
were to brighten the kitchen, add more storage and remove
barriers that blocked the flow. The original pantry in the
home, built by Klosterman Construction, had been turned
into an elevator by the previous owner, so a new walk-in
pantry was added. Cherry cabinets were replaced with
new white cabinets. The dark wood-paneled appliances
replaced with Sub Zero and Wolf stainless steel, including
a 60-inch range and refrigerated drawers. New, bright
Cambria quartz counters were installed, and a new favorite
is a motorized garbage. “We love to cook and entertain, so I
didn’t hold back,” said Monica.

Randy’s Flooring, Kelly Heating and Air, Grout Electric, The
Appliance Barn and Vittetoe Plumbing and Heating.
