Chardonnay<br />

came from<br />

vineyards<br />

in the area<br />

around Trapani,<br />

while Grillo was grown close<br />

to Marsala. Both were picked<br />

by hand and vinified separately,<br />

using some skin contact for the<br />

Chardonnay and fermentation<br />

with oak. Grillo grapes were<br />

pressed, fermented in tank and<br />

remained on lees for several<br />

months prior to the final blending.<br />

Tasted as a tank sample, the wine<br />

had good colour with fresh apples<br />

and quince characters.<br />

Nero d’Avola and Shiraz vines are planted on<br />

sandy soils rich in minerals in the area around<br />

Trapani and are traditionally trained. The wine<br />

is a bright plum colour with aromas of violets<br />

and red cherries. It is supple and juicy, with<br />

red cherry flavours and a moreish finish.<br />
