She laughed “No, no, no! On my birth
certificate my name is Fiona, but when I
was little, I pronounced my name as Fear
and it, not surprisingly, stuck. I tell you
what though, my parents are a couple of
hippies and I have a horrible feeling that
they might have planned it that way.”
“I imagine, I tell you what though, my
daughters wouldn’t actually mind if my
girlfriend and I had given them names that
were a bit more novel and hip. Apparently,
Sophie and Harriet are just a bit too
common for their taste.”
She laughed “Hah…. give them time.
Trust me when they get older, they will be
more than happy having normal names.
How old are they?”
“Five and seven.”
“Do they live back in England?”
“No, no, no. They live on the mainland
