cubs stalking a herd of muskoxen. The size of
the polar bear cubs and the time of the year
demonstrated that they and their mother must
have just come out of hibernation and were
therefore starving. She watched the mother
polar bear spring out action when she got close
enough to the herd and when the muskoxen
realised what was happening, they panicked
and the adult muskoxen stormed away from
the approaching polar bear, leaving their calves
behind as they were not yet strong enough to
