keep up with their mothers and, while the
calves cried for their mothers for help, the
polar bear systematically killed a large amount
of the vulnerable younglings. It was one of the
saddest things that the doctor had ever seen,
but that was how nature worked right and it
would mean that the polar bear mother and
her calves would be well fed and this type of
thing kept the cycle of life on this planet
working properly. Macro homeostasis she
thought to herself, without it the ecosystem of
the world would stop working and that was,
ultimately, what she was doing, protecting the
circle of life. She called out to the driver.
“How much longer until we get there???”
