Hello Spring!
It’s March and that means all things Spring! Spring break, Spring
training, and clocks spring forward.
Our City Person this month is Sharon DiPietro. She is
Chairman of the Board for the Tri-County Animal Rescue, and
the Chair of the 17th Annual Doggie & Kittie Ball. Her passion
for animals is contagious and admirable. Read about Sharon and her
incredible work inside this issue.
St. Patrick’s Day is Sunday, March 17th, but the celebrations are
all weekend long in Delray Beach! Beginning on Friday the Pre-Party
begins at 5pm, continues on Saturday with an all day festival from
10 am to 6 pm at the Delray Beach Tennis Center - and admission is
FREE! There will be plenty of music, food trucks, activities and fun for
all ages. The official start time for the parade on Saturday is 2pm. For
more information visit www.delraystpatricksfestival.com or Facebook
page www.facebook.com/delraystpatricksfestival.
Our recipe this month is an Corned Beef and Cabbage - an Irish
classic with a little Italian flair, as created by Chef Michel Menna from Il
Contadino Restaurante located in the Pineapple Grove District. Try it!
Diane Feen visits Scuola Vecchia for the most authentic Neapolitan
pizza this side of the Atlantic Ocean! Sharon and Shaun Aliosio
imported a pizza oven from Naples and Sharon is trained in the
traditional Napolitano style of making pizzas. Check out our
Restaurant Review and plan a visit - make sure you go hungry!
See you on the Ave!
Stay close
to anything
that makes
you glad you
are alive.
