Now that Delray Beach is a rising star in the art, culture and social scene,<br />

it might seem a little difficult to find affordable activities, shops or<br />

restaurants. I am here to prove you wrong. Delray Beach<br />

offers a mix of high-end boutiques with laid-back<br />

restaurants, and events for the whole family or<br />

nightclubs for night owls. Here is what you can do<br />

in Delray Beach in <strong>March</strong> for $50 or less.<br />

When I see food, I eat it. When I see wine, I drink it. <strong>March</strong><br />

is National Nutrition Month and is a great time to get<br />

back to what matters: seafood and wine, and their many<br />

health benefits, naturally. The Delray Beach Wine & Seafood Festival<br />

is back by popular demand and offers guests weekend culinary<br />

extravaganza. Not only will you be privy to a diverse menu of delicious<br />

seafood including lobster rolls, creole platters, conch ceviche<br />

and much more, you’ll also be able to enjoy wines from Amarone to<br />

Zinfandel. As if that’s not enough, there are also 100 exhibitors featuring<br />

arts and crafts, live music, a wine garden and craft beer area,<br />

and wine and food pairing seminars from top chefs from local restaurants<br />

and vintners from internationally renowned wineries. Admission<br />

is free but if you feel like shelling out a little cash, opt for a<br />

ticket to The Wine Down Garden. For $50 you’re able to wine down<br />

in a new intimate space featuring a luxurious garden area with 20<br />

wines to sample from old and new world wines from around the<br />

world, with unlimited sampling for two hours. The Delray Beach<br />

Wine & Seafood Festival is held Saturday, <strong>March</strong> 9 from 11am to<br />

11pm and Sunday, <strong>March</strong> 10 from 11am to 6pm at the Old School<br />

Square Pavilion Grounds, 51 N. Swinton <strong>Ave</strong>. Visit www.wineandseafoodfest.com<br />

Let’s get crafty! <strong>March</strong> is National Craft Month and if you need a<br />

little inspiration before dusting off that old jar of Mod Podge,<br />

you’re in luck. The good people at Arts Warehouse are hosting<br />

a Green ARTery, which is a pop-up plant, flower and arts/maker<br />

sale, activities and event. You are invited to swing by and check out<br />

one-of-a-kind plant and flower inspired wares including food and<br />

beverage, clothing, household wares, art work, living plants and<br />

flowers, and more. You and your imagination are encouraged to<br />

run wild and mix with local art makers and shakers so you can get<br />

some inspiration for your own art project, or to find a piece for your<br />

home or office or cloffice (closet-office because apparently now<br />

that’s a thing). You are also able to check out the Artist in Resident<br />

Studios and the current Arts Warehouse Exhibition too, so you have<br />

a great opportunity to fully immerse yourself in all that the Warehouse<br />

has to offer. This free event is held Saturday, <strong>March</strong> 23 from<br />

10am to 3pm and you can expect to enjoy music, bites and sips. The<br />

Go green or go home! The St. Patrick’s Day Parade<br />

is back again this year for two fun-filled days of<br />

celebrations so by the time St. Patrick’s<br />

Day rolls around on Sunday, <strong>March</strong> 17, you’ll be<br />

ready to relax and kick back with some corned<br />

beef and cabbage<br />

and a Guinness.<br />

Night Parade Pre-<br />

Party from 5 to<br />

10pm. Held at the<br />

Delray Beach Tennis<br />

Center, enjoy live music,<br />

hundred of your local neighbors.<br />

But, make sure you’re<br />

ready for Saturday, <strong>March</strong><br />

16 because the Parade is<br />

the highlight of the event.<br />

There will be live music,<br />

entertainment, games, vendors<br />

and more at the Tennis<br />

Center from 10am to 5pm, but<br />

make sure to have a good spot<br />

along the <strong>Ave</strong>nue because the<br />

parade starts at 2pm. The parade<br />

proudly features local nonprofit<br />

organizations, businesses,<br />

schools, civic organizations, veterans,<br />

police, firefighters and EMS<br />

from all across the nation and<br />

even as far as Australia, Belgium,<br />
