About the Role<br />

This is a great opportunity to enter the construction industry, joining our<br />

small team initially as Dogman, with the prospect of gaining Crane Operators<br />

qualification. You’ll work with our fleet of mobile and crawler cranes, carrying out<br />

work on our various commercial construction sites throughout the Christchurch<br />

region. You will have a passion for learning, be highly motivated, with knowledge<br />

of agricultural machinery or similar heavy equipment.<br />

<strong>Selwyn</strong> District Plan<br />

PRIVATE PLAN CHANGE 59<br />

GW Wilfield Ltd has lodged a private plan change request with the Council. The<br />

plan change seeks to rezone approximately 73.5ha of land at West Melton from<br />

Living 2 and Living 2A to a Living WM South Zone, to allow for more intensive<br />

residential development.<br />

<strong>Selwyn</strong> District Council<br />

Clause 5 of the First Schedule, Resource Management Act 1991<br />

Plan Change 59 (PC59) proposes to change the <strong>Selwyn</strong> District Plan (Townships Maps<br />

and Plan text) to rezone approximately 73.5ha of land at West Melton from Living<br />

2 and Living 2A to a Living WM South Zone, to allow for more intensive residential<br />

development. The subject land is located on the south side of West Coast Road/State<br />

Highway 73, bounded by Weedons Ross Road to the west and is the whole of the area<br />

known as the ‘Wilfield’ subdivision.<br />

PC59 proposes amendments to the <strong>Selwyn</strong> District Plan that include:<br />

· amending the District Planning Maps to rezone the subject land from Living 2 and<br />

Living 2A to a Living WM South Zone<br />

· amending Township Volume, Appendix 20 Outline Development Plan – West Melton by<br />

deleting the existing Outline Development Plan (ODP) and replacing it with two ODPs<br />

· renaming the existing Living WM Zone to Living WM North Zone, with consequential<br />

amendments to district plan provisions that make reference to that zone<br />

· amending Township Volume, A4.5 Townships and Zone, Table A4.4 Description of<br />

Township Zones<br />

· amending Section B4 Growth of Townships, Residential Density – Anticipated<br />

Environmental Results<br />

· amending the explanation to Townships Policies B4.3.98 and B4.3.101<br />

· introducing rules to manage fencing, buildings and subdivision within the proposed<br />

Living WM South Zone<br />

The plan change request and the assessment of why it is needed can be read at<br />

Council’s Rolleston Headquarters and Darfield Library and Service Centre and can<br />

be viewed online at libraries and service centres in Darfield, Leeston, Lincoln and<br />

Rolleston or at www.selwyn.govt.nz.<br />

Submissions<br />

Any person or organisation may make a submission supporting or opposing any<br />

aspect of this plan change. Submissions must be written and in accordance with Form<br />

5 of the Resource Management Regulations and is available from a Council service<br />

centre or on the website.<br />

At a later date, all submissions received will be summarised and published. Further<br />

to consider all submissions, after which the Council will decide whether to reject<br />

or approve the plan change. Any submitter who is not satisfied with the Council’s<br />

decision may then appeal to the Environment Court.<br />
