Quand y aller? / When to go?
Le Parc National Masoala se trouve dans la
région la plus humide de Madagascar, une forte
précipitation y est enregistrée surtout en dernier
trimestre de l’année. Il hérite du climat tropical
chaud et humide du nord-est de l’île. La période
la plus propice pour sa visite s’étend de juillet à
décembre.
The National Park of Masoala is situated in the
wettest part of Madagascar, with high rainfall,
particularly during the last quarter of the year.
The park has the hot and humid tropical climate
of the north-east of the island. The best period to
visit is from July to December.
Comment s’y rendre? / How to get there?
Vous avez deux possibilités pour rejoindre le
Parc : depuis Maroantsetra ou depuis Antalaha,
la Compagnie Air Madagascar/Tsaradia dessert
ces deux villes. A Maroantsetra, des opérateurs
proposent un service de location de bateau ou
de vedette rapide pour rejoindre la presqu’île
Masoala. En optant pour l’accès via Antalaha,
en 4x4 ou en moto, vous passerez par la forêt
littorale Cap-Est (60km). Les habitants et votre
guide vous informeront des différents Fady
(tabous) à respecter.
There are two ways to get to the park: from
Maroantsetra or from Antalaha. Air Madagascar/
Tsaradia airline runs flights to both of these
towns. In Maroantsetra, there are tour operators
who propose boat or speed boat rentals to the
peninsular of Masoala. From Antalaha, it is 60km
drive through the coastal forest of Cap-Est, by 4x4
or motorbike. The locals or your tour guide will
give you information concerning the different
Fady (taboos) to be respected.

Pour passer la nuit sur le site, vous aurez toutes
les informations nécessaires au bureau d’accueil
à Maroantsetra ou réservez à Masoala Resort,
à l’Hôtel Manga Beach, chez Arol, au Relais du
Masoala ou encore au Masoala Forest Lodge.
You can obtain information about where to stay
at the welcome desk in Maroantsetra or you can
book a room at the Masoala Resort, Hôtel Manga
Beach, Chez Arol, the Relais du Masoala, or else
at the Masoala Forest Lodge.
Où manger? / Where to eat?
Les fruits de mer comme les autres spécialités
de l’est de la grande Ile sont proposés au
Restaurant « Manga Beach », « Avia monah » ou
« La Rive droite ».
The Manga Beach, the Avia monah and the
Rive droite all serve seafood, as well as other
specialities from the east of Madagascar.
Que voir? / What to see?
Le Parc étant situé entre deux régions: SAVA
et Analanjirofo, dont les Antimaroa sont
majoritaires, vous aurez l’occasion de vous
familiariser avec les cultures traditionnelles
betsimisaraka. L’accès via Maroantsetra vous
permet la visite de Nosy Mangabe et du grand
Parc Masoala.
As the park is situated between two regions:
SAVA and Analanjirofo, with the majority of the
population being Antimaroa, you will come into
contact with the traditional Betsimisaraka culture.
Travelling to the park through Maroantsetra, in
addition to the vast Masoala Park, you can also
visit the island of Nosy Mangabe.
