Early in the morning when I head to the beach with my boogie board and my dog, I feel full of gratitude for being able to indulge in the warmth of the rising sun, sounds, and colors of nature, and the waves that are lapping at my feet. This is what our visitors experienced as well who arrived in swarms from all over the world to enjoy the Envision Festival in the tiny town of Uvita. They came to share friendship, excellent music and workshops, the ocean, the hot climate, and the food. Our freshly harvested fruit is something so delicious it can never be compared with supermarket produce in the Northern hemisphere that was transported still green and after-ripened in dark containers. Por la mañana, cuando me dirijo a la playa con mi tabla de boogie y mi perro, me siento muy agradecida por poder disfrutar del calor del sol, los sonidos y colores de la naturaleza y las olas que acarician mis pies. Esto es también lo que nuestros visitantes que llegaron en enjambres desde todo el mundo para disfrutar del Festival de Envision experimentaron en la pequeña ciudad de Uvita. Aquí compartieron amistad, excelente música y talleres, el amplio océano, el clima cálido y la comida. Nuestra fruta recién cosechada es algo tan delicioso que nunca se puede comparar con los productos en los supermercados del hemisferio norte que son transportados todavía de color verde y luego madurados en contenedores oscuros.

Esto es también lo que nuestros visitantes que llegaron en enjambres desde todo el mundo para disfrutar del Festival de Envision experimentaron en la pequeña ciudad de Uvita. Aquí compartieron amistad, excelente música y talleres, el amplio océano, el clima cálido y la comida. Nuestra fruta recién cosechada es algo tan delicioso que nunca se puede comparar con los productos en los supermercados del hemisferio norte que son transportados todavía de color verde y luego madurados en contenedores oscuros.

Envision ~ cuatro días inolvidables<br />

Hace seis meses dejé mi<br />
país de origen Alemania<br />
para descubrir Centroamérica.<br />
Mi viaje comenzó en<br />
Costa Rica con una pasantía en<br />
la revista Ballena Tales donde<br />
trabajé durante 3 meses.<br />
Después de eso, viajé a Guatemala,<br />
ahí visité las ruinas de<br />
los Mayas, tomé un colorido<br />
“chicken bus - bus de pollos”<br />
y caminé por las calles empedradas<br />
de Antigua. El siguiente<br />
destino fue Belice y obtuve mi<br />
licencia de buceo en la segunda<br />
barrera de coral más gr<strong>and</strong>e<br />
del mundo. Seguí mi viajé hacia<br />
el norte a México para explorar<br />
los «cenotes» místicos<br />
(increíbles pozos subterráneos<br />
naturales) en la península de<br />
Yucatán.<br />
Lo pasé de maravilla, pero aún<br />
faltaba una experiencia: el Festival<br />
Envision en Uvita. Así que viajé de regreso a Costa Rica donde me esperaban cuatro días inolvidables. Cu<strong>and</strong>o llegué al<br />
sitio del Festival me abrumaron las impresiones. Había una colorida mezcla de arte, música y personas de diferentes culturas.<br />
El evento se lleva a cabo en una antigua hacienda en la selva colind<strong>and</strong>o con el Océano Pacífico. Los cuatro escenarios<br />
decorados con mucha imaginación presentaron todo género de música. Había una impresionante galería de arte y salones<br />
donde se podía tomar té, relajarse y conversar.<br />
Durante el día se ofrecieron talleres sobre yoga, danza estética y meditación. En el taller de danza estética aprendí a expresar<br />
mis sentimientos a través de movimientos. Fue increíble ver a la gente bail<strong>and</strong>o en armonía con su entorno y con ellos<br />
mismos. Otro punto culminante fue una ceremonia de cacao con chamanes, que me dio bastante energía para disfrutar de la<br />
estimulante mezcla de música hasta el amanecer. Todos se reunieron en la playa para celebrar la salida del sol y el despertar<br />
de la naturaleza. Obtuve mucha inspiración en el Festival y aprendí sobre espiritualidad, salud y estrategias regenerativas.<br />
Envision es una mezcla perfecta de arte, música y educación. ¡No podría imaginar un mejor final para mi viaje por Centroamérica!<br />

Envision ~ Four Unforgettable Days<br />
Six months ago I left my home country, Germany, to<br />
discover Central America. My journey started in Costa<br />
Rica with an internship at the Ballena Tales <strong>Magazine</strong><br />
where I worked for 3 months. After that I traveled to<br />
Guatemala, where I visited the ruins of the Mayas, took a ride<br />
in a colorful “chicken bus,” <strong>and</strong> strolled through Antigua´s<br />
cobblestone streets. My next destination was Belize where<br />
I achieved my diving license at the world’s second largest<br />
barrier reef. Then I traveled north to Mexico to explore the<br />
mystical “cenotes” (amazing natural underground pits) in the<br />
Peninsula of Yucatan.<br />
I had an amazing time but one experience was still missing:<br />
The Envision Festival in Uvita. So I traveled back to where my<br />
journey started <strong>and</strong> four unforgettable days were waiting for<br />
me. When I arrived at the Festival site, I was overwhelmed<br />
by impressions. There was a colorful mix of art, music, <strong>and</strong><br />
people from different cultures. The event took place in a<br />
former ranch in the jungle which meets the <strong>Pacific</strong> Ocean.<br />
The four different scenarios decorated with great imagination<br />
presented all kinds of music. There was an impressive art<br />
gallery <strong>and</strong> lounges where you could drink tea, relax <strong>and</strong><br />
have some good conversation.<br />
During the day, workshops about Yoga, aesthetic dance, <strong>and</strong><br />
Meditation were offered. In the aesthetic dance workshop,<br />
I learned to express my feelings through movements. It<br />
was amazing to see people dancing in harmony with their<br />
environment <strong>and</strong> with themselves. Another highlight was<br />
a shaman cacao ceremony which gave me enough energy<br />
to enjoy the stimulating mix of music until the daybreak.<br />
Everybody got together at the beach to celebrate the sunrise<br />
<strong>and</strong> nature’s awakening. I gained a lot of inspiration at<br />
the Festival <strong>and</strong> learned about spirituality, health <strong>and</strong><br />
regenerative strategies. Envision is the perfect blend of art,<br />
music <strong>and</strong> education. I could not imagine a better ending of<br />
my journey throughout Central America! ■<br />
