Barlow Tyrie – Teak<br />
Felsted<br />
Its classic design and solid construction make the Felsted<br />
collection suitable for use in public spaces as well as private<br />
gardens. This design is similar to that of our Glenham but is<br />
lighter in weight.<br />
The collection consists of an armchair that can be used with any<br />
of our traditional teak tables, a classic bench, and a footstool that<br />
can also be used as a small side table or as an extra occasional<br />
seat. The armchair and bench can be carved with an inscription<br />
or fitted with a bronze plaque – see page 230.<br />
Felsted features:<br />
l Medium weight for easier manoeuvrability<br />
l Classic bench which will seat two people comfortably<br />
l No exposed hardware on footstool makes it perfect for use<br />
in showers and saunas<br />
Glenham<br />
The Glenham is an original Barlow Tyrie design that is widely<br />
regarded as the archetypal English garden seat. Our collection<br />
includes circular and hexagonal tree seats, modular circular<br />
seating, and corner seats, together with the more usual seats<br />
and armchairs.<br />
Tree seats are sold as two separate halves, which are bolted<br />
together when in position using the solid brass bolts supplied.<br />
Please note that the ground around old trees is rarely level and<br />
in this case we recommend the construction of a brick or stone<br />
plinth. The plinth should extend beyond the seat so feet may be<br />
comfortably rested when seated.<br />
The armchair and seat can be carved with an inscription or fitted<br />
with a bronze plaque – see page 230.<br />

The Glenham Corner Seat 180 is in two halves – see opposite<br />
page 99 (1GL18CL left and 1GL18CR right). After positioning, these<br />
two halves are bolted together to form a corner seat using the solid<br />
brass bolts supplied. This seat is also available to special order with<br />
the `London’ style armrests, which increases the overall lengths<br />
by 5cm (2").<br />
For public spaces, security fasteners can be used to secure any item<br />
of furniture in place on a solid floor – see page 232.<br />
