Police nab lady ritualist, 10
bandits in Katsina

Police Command,
yesterday, paraded a
female ritualist and
fraudster, one
Hassatu Isah, 30,
who collected N1.9
million from one
Rabiu Haruna with
the intent to provide
him with spiritual
powers.
According to the
command, “nemesis
caught up with her
when she could not
deliver the spiritual
powers to the victim
and he demanded the
return of his money.
“She then planned
to kill him by hiring a
killer, one Babangida
Dalha, whom she
contracted with
N50,000 for the job.
“In the course of
investigation, the
suspects were
arrested and
confessed to have
administered poison
with intent to kill the
victim, which failed
and they eventually
resorted to physical
killing of the victim

The suspect told journalists during

the cost of N7,000 for self protection
after he was attacked sometimes along
Nasarawa-Benue State highway by
unknown gunmen.

The command, however, said
it succeeded in arresting one
Sani Ibrahim alias Kwalba in
Safana, who is a member of
kidnap syndicate and expert in
arms repairs who services arms
for bandits in the forest.

Nasarawa massacre: Victims get mass burial

LAFIA— Tears and anger
rolled in Akwanga Local
Government Area of Nasarawa
State as victims of the recent
killings were laid to rest in
Kochum-Numa village of
AKwanga council area of
Nasarawa State.
Recall that 17 persons were
killed last Sunday at a naming
ceremony in Mada community
by gunmen suspected to be
herders.
Sixteen of the 17 victims of
the attack were committed to
mother earth after Christian
rites.
One of the deceased, who
was a DJ at the party, was
buried according to Islamic
rites a day after the attack.
The mass burial took place
about noon after the
deceased bodies were moved
from the Akwanga General
Hospital mortuary to the
village.
It was a moment of grief
for family members, friends
and other sympathisers as
tears flowed freely over the
gruesome murder of their
loved ones.
Governor Tanko Al-
Makura, who had earlier
visited the traditional ruler,
Samson Gamu Yare, at his
palace in Akwanga, before
being led to the Akwanga
General Hospital where the
deceased bodies were
deposited, sympathised with
the families of the victims and
the entire Mada nation.
He appealed to the affected
families to remain calm while
the law enforcement agencies
carry out investigations and
possible arrest of the culprits.
Several other people were
wounded in the attack and are
currently receiving treatment at
different hospitals across the
state.
