Ask yourself why you want to keep up with strangers on TV or social<br />
media? It is probably not as simple as they have nice things and I<br />
want them too. Consider why you want them.<br />
It could be because of frustration at work. Do you feel underappreciated<br />
and underpaid? When you see others doing well and having nice things<br />
does it hurt a little?<br />
Do you feel like you can’t make friends unless you spend money to attract<br />
them to yourself? Low self esteem can be a real challenge. Maybe, in your<br />
mind, bright shiny things make others see you as being valuable and make<br />
you a better person?<br />
Personal problems can beat us down. We get stressed by ourselves and<br />
others. We are all aware of how retail therapy works but it also comes with<br />
a hefty price tag. You may also come from a background where you did not<br />
have a lot as a family. Now you feel you should have everything you never<br />
had and you should have it all in one go.
