Think about what is important to you and not what is important<br />
to other people. If suddently everybody was raving about owning a<br />
skunk and what a fabulous pet it makes, if your own goals are not<br />
clear in your mind, then you may end up with a very smelly house.<br />
Regularly focus on your own goals and how you are working towards them.<br />
Let people have their own goals and be happy for them when they make<br />
progress towards them but don’t start chasing other people’s dreams or<br />
you will end up sorely disappointed later in life.<br />
Keeping up with the Joneses may actually have dragged you further away<br />
from achieving your original dreams. You may, in fact, have stopped chasing<br />
your own dreams altogether. It may be time for you to seriously think about<br />
what is important to you and how you can achieve your goals.<br />
If family is important to you then you don’t need to be on a yacht in the<br />
Caribbean to enjoy time with them. If your kids are the most important then<br />
working long hours and never seeing them may not be the best way to give<br />
them a good future. If you love fancy food then maybe you should head to<br />
your own kitchen rather than expensive restaurants.<br />
Money and status are no substitute for the real joys in life.
