OSDP SETS THE NEW STANDARD FOR SECURE ACCESS CONTROL
Let’s face it, we all know low-frequency 125kHz proximity cards don’t provide any real security. After
all, they can be cloned by anyone in seconds with a simple device from an online store. In reality,
however, Wiegand Protocol is almost as vulnerable. As one ethical hacker puts it,
“Weigand is not just old, it's incredibly insecure”. That brings us to Open Supervised
Device Protocol, a new access control communications standard developed by a
collaboration of the world’s most forward-thinking manufacturers. It’s quite a
mouthful, which is probably why people refer to it as OSDP. Our new Janus C4
Access Control platform fully supports OSDP, which the Security Industry
Association (SIA) now recommends for “any Access Control installations
that require security”.
We think that should be all of them.
