Summer fun starts at
White Water Canyon
White Water Canyon Water Park is
where summer fun happens right in
the heart of Tinley Park at 171st Street
and 80th Avenue. White Water Canyon
opens for the 2019 season on June 1 and
will keep you cool on hot summer days
through Sept. 2.
Owned and operated by the Tinley
Park-Park District, White Water Canyon
is a 5-acre water park with amenities for
all ages. The main pool features zerodepth
entry with a fantastic children’s
play structure, a 1-meter diving board and
a 3-meter drop slide. The lazy river is the
perfect place to relax and float away your
cares. Get a thrill flying down one of the
three exhilarating water slides; one- and
two-person tubes provided. The park also
has a playground splash area filled with interactive
fountains, water cannons, spraying
arches, squirting flowers and dumping
buckets. Need a break from the water?
Children and adults can create awesome
sand castles in our large sand area.
White Water Canyon is open daily from
noon-8 p.m. As the children head back to
school, weekday hours are shortened to
4-7 p.m. and weekend hours to 11 a.m.-
7 p.m. Season pass holders are permitted
to enter the park 30 minutes earlier than
daily admission guests. Season passes
are available for both residents and nonresidents.

Park District residents is $8 per person;
non-resident fee is $16 per person. Parking
is free.
White Water Canyon is a great place
to host birthday parties all summer long.
Birthday party groups get use of the Party
Pavilion with a deck attendant on hand to
assist with food and refreshments. Be sure
to check out White Water Canyon’s website
for details on birthday packages.
On July 4, White Water Canyon is open
from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Just down the block
Tinley Park-Park District’s annual Fourth
of July Celebration will be in full swing
at McCarthy Park. Every year, nearly
20,000 people join in the all-day celebration
culminating with a spectacular fireworks
show widely known as the “Best
Fireworks Show in the South Suburbs.”
So spend the day keeping cool at the water
park and then head over to the festivities
and fireworks. You do not want to miss it.
