The rules are simple. A quick look reveals that the<br />

puzzle is a 9-by-9 grid of squares divided into nine 3-<br />

by-3 square blocks, with some of the squares filled<br />

in for you. The object is to fill in the blank squares in<br />

such a way that each of the numbers 1 to 9 appears<br />

exactly once in each row, column, and block.<br />

If the puzzle has been constructed properly, there<br />

should be only one way to complete the diagram<br />

within the rules of the game.<br />

Since my grandfather worked at the<br />

quarry, he occasionally would bring<br />

home a sort of “rock candy” balls,<br />

red and white, that were delicious.<br />

They were kind of like a hard outer<br />

shell but soft enough to chew. For<br />

survivors? I think I have read in the<br />

past that these had iodine in them,<br />

but can’t find a picture or any info<br />

on them. The quarry he worked at is<br />

under different ownership now, and<br />

I don’t advise trespassing on a<br />

quarry, just to snoop for candy. I<br />

45yrs old now.<br />

Years later, a fictional detective, Sgt.<br />

Joe Friday became famous for the<br />

phrase, “Just the facts, Ma’am. All I<br />

want are the facts .” If there were no<br />

facts there could be no reliable<br />

evidence.<br />

“Shout for joy to God, all the earth ...<br />

Say to God, ‘How awesome are Your<br />

deeds! So great is Your power .. . All<br />

the earth bows down to You ,”’ wrote<br />

David.<br />

Everywhere David looked, he saw<br />

God’s “awesome deeds.” And these<br />

“deeds” provided all the “evidence”<br />

he, and those who met with him in<br />

worship, needed to have to believe in<br />

the God of Israel.<br />

These “awesome deeds” can be seen<br />

have spoke to others that also had<br />

sampled this type of candy, but it<br />

must have been depleted years ago<br />

as I have not seen any in a long time.<br />

As we lived just on the south end<br />

of Mt. Vernon, it seemed everyday<br />

that there was either a B-52 bomber<br />

or some sort of transport plane that<br />

went from west to east. I never remembered<br />

seeing them go the other<br />

way. I would wonder then as a kid,<br />

where are all of these going?, did<br />

these have soldiers on them?, supplies?,<br />

tanks? I didn’t know if they<br />

were cargo planes or what. I’m pretty<br />

convinced after seeing a mounted<br />

one in Colorado Springs as a teen,<br />

that these were the B-52 bombers.<br />

Perhaps they had been transporting<br />

bombs? And you really don’t realize<br />

how big these things are until you<br />

see one up close and in person. After<br />

the cold war settled down, and<br />

this was also the time that the Vietnam<br />

war started winding down,<br />

those flights, started decreasing in<br />

how often they flew over until they<br />

just stopped, and we forgot about<br />

in His-story: God judging and<br />

punishing those who were disobedient<br />

to Him; those who broke His laws<br />

and disregarded and disobeyed His<br />

commandments. They paid the price.<br />

His-story also includes examples of<br />

His countless blessings and unending<br />

love, mercy and grace that He<br />

graciously blest those who trusted<br />

Him. He protected them and provided<br />

for their every need as long as they<br />

were obedient to His Word and His<br />

ways. And He still does.<br />

The Bible contains all of the evidence<br />

that is needed for us to see the<br />

“awesome deeds” of God. In His<br />

story He gives us “evidence” and<br />

“facts” that are undeniable.<br />

Christian faith is a faith established<br />

on truths that cannot be denied. With<br />

David we can “Shout for joy!”<br />

Was I worried about a nuclear war<br />

about it. Though more serious than<br />

the general public knew, I don’t<br />

think most people thought anything<br />

would ever really happen.<br />

base was in Akron, OH. but, I don’t<br />

coolest thing seeing at Renfro Valley<br />

the real Col. Harland Sanders<br />

of Kentucky Fried Chicken Fame<br />

in ‘75 at John Lair Day? The<br />

Colonel’s image is probaby known<br />

throughout most of the world now.<br />

1 quart oil for frying<br />

4 summer squash, cut into<br />

chunks<br />

1 medium onion, grated<br />

2 eggs, beaten<br />

2/3 cup all-purpose flour<br />

2/3 cup dry corn muffin mix<br />

2 teaspoons baking powder<br />

3/4 teaspoon salt<br />

Heat the oil in a deep, heavy<br />

skillet or deep fryer to 365 degrees<br />

Place the squash in a pot with<br />

enough water to cover. Bring to<br />

a boil, and cook 10 minutes, or<br />

until tender. Drain, and mash.<br />

our life of prosperity would go<br />

on forever. What if our life suddenly<br />

changed and how would<br />

we react if it did? Paul reminds<br />

us in Philippians 4:11-13, “I am<br />

not saying this because I am in<br />

need, for I have learned to be<br />

content whatever the circumstances.<br />

I know what it is to be<br />

in need, and I know what it is to<br />

have plenty. I have learned the<br />

secret of being content in any<br />

and every situation, whether well<br />

fed or hungry, whether living in<br />

plenty or in want. I can do all<br />

this through Christ who gives<br />

me strength.”<br />

in search of radium as the<br />

It is not how much we have<br />

people. Many people put off a<br />

decision for Christ thinking that<br />

there will be a better time but<br />

WHERE IS HAPPINESS?<br />

Not in unbelief- Voitalre was<br />

an infidel of the most<br />

pronounced type. He wrote: “<br />

I wish I had never been born.”<br />

Not in pleasure- Lord Byron<br />

lived a life of pleasure, if<br />

anyone did. He wrote: “The<br />

worm, the canker and the grief<br />

are mine alone.”<br />

Not in money- Jay Gould, the<br />

American millionaire, had<br />

plenty of that. When dying he<br />

said: “ I suppose I am the most<br />

miserable man on earth.”<br />

Not in position and fame- Lord<br />

Beaconsfield enjoyed more<br />

than his share of both. He<br />

wrote: “Youth is a mistake;<br />

manhood, a struggle; old age,<br />

a regret.”<br />

Not in military glory- Alexander<br />

the Great conquered the known<br />

world in his day. Having done<br />

so, he wept, because, hesaid,<br />

“There are no more worldsto<br />

conquer.”<br />

Where then is<br />

happiness found?<br />

The answer is simple: In Christ<br />

alone. He said, “I will see you<br />

again, and your heart shall<br />

rejoice, and your joy no man<br />

taketh from you.”<br />

Helium is the second most abundant<br />

element in the universe, most<br />

of it in the Earth's atmosphere<br />

bleeds off into space. Helium usually<br />

makes up a minuscule portion<br />

of natural gas, but can make up as<br />

much as 10 percent of natural gas<br />

in some fields.There is no chemical<br />

way of manufacturing helium, and<br />

the supplies we have originated in<br />

the very slow radioactive alpha decay<br />

that occurs in rocks. It costs<br />

around 10,000 times more to extract<br />

helium from air than it does from<br />

rocks and natural gas reserves.<br />

Helium production in the United<br />

States totaled 73 million cubic<br />

meters in 2014. ... Today, the U.S.<br />

alone produces 75 percent of the<br />

world's helium. Nearly half of that<br />

total, or roughly 30 percent of the<br />

world's helium supply, comes from<br />

the U.S. Federal Helium Reserve.<br />

In the natural gas fields near Amarillo,<br />

the U.S. government maintains<br />

the country's largest helium storehouse.<br />

put it there back in 1925<br />

because natural gas produced at<br />

the gas fields between Amarillo<br />

and Hugoton, Kan., has a very<br />

high helium concentration—up to<br />

1.9 percent.The dome is connected<br />

to a pipeline that links the stored<br />

helium with nearby helium refining<br />

facilities and the natural gas fields<br />

in Kansas. All commercial helium<br />

is recovered from natural gas. Although<br />

other countries produce<br />

helium, (other major helium producers<br />

were Algeria and Qatar), the<br />

natural gas fields elsewhere around<br />

the globe are much less heliumrich<br />

than those near Amarillo.<br />

Because helium was critical to military<br />

reconnaissance and space exploration<br />

in the mid-20th Century,<br />

Congress mandated that the government<br />

encourage private helium<br />

producers nationwide to sell their<br />

helium to the government and store<br />

BLM to sell off its helium stores at a<br />

fixed rate and then abruptly close in<br />

descent in 2013, giving it until September<br />

30, 2021, to sell its helium<br />

stores in a series of auctions.<br />

The private industry's response to<br />

the required government sell-off<br />

has been too slow and the geology<br />

of the helium reservoir near Amarillo<br />

is too complex to simply sell off<br />

the helium stored inside and then<br />

close its doors. If the valve was<br />

simply left wide open to deplete the<br />

entire supply at once, valuable helium<br />

would be stranded in the<br />

ground and never recovered.<br />

Some retail stores that sell a lot<br />

of helium balloons have already<br />

anounced closures. But helium<br />

goes into a lot more than balloons.<br />

Scientists use it in cryogenics, highenergy<br />

accelerators, arc welding,<br />

and silicon wafer manufacturing. A<br />

severe reduction in the availability<br />

of helium could force hospitals to<br />

replace costly MRI magnets or restrict<br />

patient access to them.

New Jersey was the first<br />

state to report an Asian<br />

long-horned tick, first on<br />

a dog in 2013 and in August<br />

2017 on a sheep.<br />

Since then, nine other<br />

states: Arkansas, Connecticut,<br />

Maryland, North<br />

Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania,<br />

Virginia, Kentucky,<br />

and West Virginia<br />

have reported finding the<br />

tick on animals, people and<br />

in environmental samples.<br />
