The New York Times recently
reported that Universal Music
Group (UMG), the world’s largest
record company that stored
original masters and other recordings
dating from the 1940’s
up to the 2000’s had an issue.
The record company asserted
that more than 100,000 masters
and “an estimated 500K song
titles” from several famous
record labels: Decca, Chess, Impulse,
ABC, MCA, Geffen,
Interscope and A&M had
burned in a fire in 2008.
Yes, 11 years had gone by and
many performers questioned
why their original recording
couldn’t be found, but they had
not been told that their work was
lost to fire and gone forever.
There are so many artist that I
couldn’t even list them all here,
but include everything from
country, rock, the blues, jazz,
comedy and many were from
pioneers in the business. Here
are just a few of the artist’s

“Be Ye Thankful”
In Colossians 3:15 is the definite
command, “Be ye thankful.”
Strange that God would have to
command us to give thanks.
Children need to be told, “Say
thank you.” We begin it as soon
as they are able to understand,
and usually we must continue it
for many years. We want our
children to be grateful and to say
thank you, but so few do. Children
of God need to be reminded too to
say, “Thank You, Lord.” Surely
there is plenty for which to be
thankful, yet God found it
necessary to command us to be
thankful.
Thankful for All Things
From Ephesians 5:20, we are to
be thankful “for all things.”
If He withholds good things from
us, we are to say thank You. If He
grants our requests, we are to say

Thankful in All Things
But 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says we
are to be thankful “in every thing.”
In every kind of situation, be filled
with thanksgiving to God.
Whether in wealth or in poverty,
whether in health or in sickness,
whether in sunshine. or in shadow,
be thankful to the God of Heaven
for His precious presence, His
wonderful promises and His
constant care.
Psalm 106:47 says we are saved
and separated in order that we may
give thanks to God.
The ungodly never bow the head
in gratitude to the God of their lives.
It is those who are saved from
going down to the pit and have
been set apart as God’s people who
are filled with thanksgiving. Surely
we will not rob Him of the thanks
due His name and prove to be
ungrateful and unthankful to the
God who has done so much for us.
Those who know God are most
grateful to Him. Be among that
number and never let the Lord say
about you, “He was not thankful.”

Herod Did Not Want To Kill
John The Baptist But He Gave
The Order, So He Wouldn’t Be
Embarrassed In Front Of His
Guests. How Easy It Is To Give
In To The Crowd And To Let
Be Thankful in Song
David’s purpose of heart is
expressed in Psalm 30:12, wherein
he promised and assured the
people that he did never cease to
be a thankful child of God. No cold
blanket would ever cause his song
to cease. No troubles, trials or
difficulties would ever hush the
song of his heart.
Be Thankful Early and Late
The psalmist in Psalm 119:62
makes a most interesting
statement about the well of
gratitude springing up in his soul.
He said he would rise at midnight
to express his thanksgiving to
God. He had retired to rest, but
his spirit would not sleep.
The thoughts of God’s
goodness, His grace and His
wonderful benevolence stirred
the psalmist so deeply that he
could not remain on his couch.
Even though the midnight hour
had come, he would rise and
express to God the gladness of his
soul and the gratitude of his heart.
No matter how dark the ·night nor
how late the hour, his heart must
pour out its thanksgiving to the
wonderful God of his life.
God grant it may be so with all of
us.
Our Selves Be Pressured Into
Doing Wrong. Don’t Get In A
Situation When It Will Be Too
Embarrassing To Know What Is
Right . Determine To Do What
Is Right Now Matter How Embarrassing
Or Painful It May Be.
Jesus sought solitude after the
news of John’s death. Sometimes
we may mean to deal with
our grief alone, Jesus did not
dwell on his grief, but returned
to the ministry he came to do.

found on a map. Nations

wealthy are now weak and
impoverished. Countries

now looked upon as
failures.
God has been, is and
always will be the Creator-
Ruler.
His sovereignty began
when the universe began
and kingdoms, nations and
countries were in existence
according to His divine
plan. He reigned before
time began and will
continue to reign even when
clocks cease to tick. “He
rules forever by His power.”
His eyes are never closed
as He watches over every
nation. Deeds that show
compassion and deeds that
are cruel do not escape His
careful observation. Though
He is invisible to us , nations
are not invisible to Him. He
is aware of every citizen in
every country and carefully
records the actions of the
rulers and leaders. “His eyes
watch the nations,” wrote
the Psalmist.
The rebellious and
unrighteous, the godless and
the god-restricting will not
escape His judgment. No
nation has ever succeeded
when they have rebelled
against God, His laws or His
truth. Nations sin, people sin
and God warns them and
waits for them to repent.
If they repent He spares
His judgment and voids
their punishment that is
rightfully theirs because of
their sin. But when nations
continue to sin they will
collapse from within or be
destroyed from without.

honored God have survived.
