To coincide with peak season in the<br />
northern hemisphere and help ensure<br />

the frequency of flights to key locations.<br />
During the summer months, we will<br />
have daily flights between Nairobi and<br />
New York, 10 extra flights between<br />
Nairobi and Amsterdam and 12 extra<br />

Our business story this month (p.40)<br />
uncovers a revolution that’s currently<br />
happening with regards to the conservation<br />
of national parks in Africa. For<br />
many years, conservation focused on<br />
protecting pristine wilderness and<br />
wildlife. This often led to the relocation<br />
of local communities. In recent years,<br />
however, governments and conservation<br />
organisations in Sub-Saharan Africa<br />
have been employing a new, more<br />
sustainable approach that’s much more<br />
effective: community-based conservation.<br />

This month, our people story (p.32) also<br />
relates to sustainability, which Kenya<br />
Airways is committed to. We profile five<br />
young entrepreneurs who are leading<br />
the way with innovative solutions. For<br />
example, one of these innovators has<br />
discovered a fast and efficient method<br />
for diagnosing malaria, which is a widespread<br />
problem in Africa and usually<br />
requires two blood tests to identify.<br />
